@iscrewedadonkey Yeah :P  After some bad experience with cheaper stuff (intonation problems, and not possible to fix), I decided to buy something that will work every time. I use it mainly for recording stuff, and this particular guitar does its job nicely. If I need a better guitar player to play something hard, then he might as well use mine, because it's a great guitar.

i'm glad the song's in D which means i can play it on a 6 string guitar with drop d tuning (the way you are playing) and you don't really need a 7 string guitar like the way petrucci plays. definitely missing palm muting in the guitar, but you're a bass play, so forgivable haha. nice solos. very interesting, especially the iphone/bebot part what'd you play it on? it's a fun song to play.

@kilochfuller Yeah, it's a good thing it's in drop D. Pretty much the only DT song I can play on guitar, but not only because of the tuning :P...

About the palm muting...It's mainly the low D's which is supposed to be muted, right? Might try it with some p.m. soon, but probably need another guitar sound.

I used Hybrid plugin for the last two parts of the kb solo, and Xpand 2 for the first part. Both are Pro Tools plugins, pretty nice ones IMO

Hi man, nice your video, you are really talented. If you don't mind my asking, can you tell me some excercise that I can do for separating more the fingers of my hands? Cuz I'm trying to learn to play the guitar, but it's becoming really difficult for me to practice, just because I can't separate too much the fingers. Please, any help you can give me will be very appreciated and welcome. Thanks a lot!!!!

I like it, but you should palm mute some more. Changing/editing your distortion could help as well (for the sound, that is). All in all, it's a pretty nice vid! You're holding your pick a bit tense though, it seems.

About the palm muting: I've never tried it (but I guess I should). I actually like the distortion pretty well, but that's totally subjective. Not that I've mixed the song anyway. This version is without EQ etc, and it will sound a bit different if I take the time to mix it. Too much other stuff to mix these days though.

Palm muting makes it sound a lot.. Fatter/tougher. You're kinda right about the subjective part; if you like it, just keep it. No hard feelings, rite? (yes, the 'typo' was on purpose =p). I think it will sound different as well, but as you said; finish first things first!
