This isn't really a proper remake because in the original, Jason's mother's the one doing all the killings. Jason doesn't start killing until Friday the 13th part II, and back then he didn't have the iconic hockey mask yet, he wore a bag over his head instead. But it still looks awesome :D

I thought he was dead before this even happened? So he wants revenge for the death of his mom, instead of revenge of the shit he's been through with the kids b4 he drowned. All the teen characters are idiots. Except 1 the main character, Clay. Jason was clever, but steals the show. Sadly, this wan't a good remake :(

This is a pretty kick-ass movie that successfully makes you simultaneously terrified of Jason and feel sympathy for him at the same time. It's a great tribute to the franchise, and as a Jason film is one of the best. I did notice that they make no mention of Friday The 13th (the day) in the movie. There were only a couple of kills that were inventive though: The bow and the ax come to mind. All in all, I thought it was a pretty damn good movie, but there was little suspense. I'd give it 7/10.

I really don't give a shit what anyone says, I loved this remake. I loved Rob Zombie's Halloween. I loved Bay's TCM. Yes, the originals will always be the best, they're the classics we all grew up with and came to know and love. But so many ignorant idiots go into theaters today to see a remake with one mindset, the expectation that the film they're about to see must match the original identically. It's called a remake for a reason. Yes, it will be the same story, but a change in pace as well.

In February 2011 it was announced that the version of the script for Part 2 had been written but production on the film is still halted. Part 2 will feature a new storyline and won't feature anything from any of the other films, so everything will be brand new.
