  • It's a law enforcement class. Yes folks cops don't have to have bullet buttons and 10 round mags.

  • He was empty and someone with his experience knows what he's doing. Jeez

  • OMG! Chris Costa swept that that at 0:15. he muzzled his leggs! try teaching a class when you muzzle your students. jk just kidding around it happens to the best of us.

  • Um, did costa just sweep that guy at 0:15?

  • He never once swept the guy laying on the ground, check your eyesight. If you can't look at foot placement and see where Costa is standing compared to the guy on the ground at the beginning then you have seriously problems.

  • LoL, I think Chris had muzzle awareness. The other guy pretty much proned INTO his muzzle. The 2nd time, the dude was laying across the floor. Chris lowered his weapon the same we he always does.

  • its a tacticool convention

  • If you think that you will never flag someone with your muzzle you clearly have no experience. I agree that muzzle control is vital but in some situations and especially under fire it is unavoidable. At that point trigger control is what takes front and center.

  • I think its the angle of the camera rather than him muzzle sweeping him. It looks like it because we get no depth perception.

  • Instructor's muzzle all over the poor guy on the ground. Tsk tsk tsk...

  • How the heck did they pull this off in LA?

  • @PompousFlea Most of them are probably LE or they were doing some tacticool reloads with bullet buttons LOL

  • Watching Cris sweep that guy's legs makes me wonder how much if the guy is hype. Muzzle control is a fundamental he shouldn't be screwing up...

  • @Dwealdric You can never have complete Muzzle control! You are ALWAYS Muzzlesling something! Better to have good trigger control!!

And these guys have been in combat.. They have had to pull trigger and take lives.. No hype, just their way. There are many ways.. Find one that fits you and run with it..

  • @BrandonEclipse----- u caught dat too? Yes dat iz Coasta!! Never thought id c dat, but i think hes gun juz ran drie cuz he checks tha chamber rite bfa he sweeps hiz legs but still,,, Muzzle Awareness!!!!! Dont get me wrong ima bigg fan of Magpul n Magpul Dynamics, got all tha dvdz an my m4 iz deckd out in Magpul an so iz my shotty but that suprised me!

  • 0:13 The guy on the right sweeps his partners leg. Is that chris?

  • @BrandonEclipse I was wondering. The guy in front of him also has his weapon side leg behind reaction side leg during urban prone. The guy on the right for other pair of shooters has his barricade side leg in the L configuration. Another no-no.

  • @riverdave7 "Chinafornia," what's that supposed to mean?

  • @LuBaihu Maybe he's poking fun at the amount of Chinese guys in the Cali AR scene vs. the rest of the other states.

  • @rotorleopard I have NO idea why that's (allegedly) the case, other than "so many Americans of Chinese descent in California anyway." Only one I'm aware of there is Chen "SMGLee" Lee anyway.

  • @chortles81 I know a few.

  • @shaglavin FL guy here. I've always wondered why Ca guys with the 10 round limit stick to 556. If work commitments meant a move to Ca I'd be shooting some bigger rounds, 458 and what have you. What do you, personally, think about that? I would also personally go 'featureless' with a p/w brake, like the pws.

  • @shaglavin hi cap mags? they are call normal cap mags the rifle was design for 30 rnds in the mag more than that will be hi cap

  • @shaglavin Dude, your post makes almost no sense. There are tons of rifles outside of H&K, like Colt. There are two ways to get an AR - bullet button and "featureless". And neither way involves registering the rifle, which you cannot do anymore and haven't been able to do for a loooong time. It was a pretty short registration period right after each ban was passed.

  • Ar's in Chinafornia. Thats a first.

  • The LE guys don't care that people bring their own AR 15 or what not. When i went they had a good laugh about it. They realize the people in the class are training to defend themselves not go out and commit crimes in Cali. It was a awesome class tho

  • @marsoc333 +1 I attended a rifle/training course held by Faclon Security Group and next to me were 3 LEOs. They never asked me or anyone about their ARs.

  • If you registered your rifle under SB23 it can have evil features.

  • Good way to get around all that AW ban non-sense is to not live in such a communist state.

  • Or they had pre ban rifles, and their are multiple devices out there that will lock on to a bullet button an act as a mag release (still illegal) but cops at this course were probably not there to make AW busts

  • If you read the description, it says the class was for LE, MIL and civvies.

Tho there are ways around the removable mag type rifles, the tools required to detach mags are cumbersome to use. I wonder what the civvies did, especially with members of LE present. I wonder if they ran featureless rifles.

  • My guess is that this is for law enforcement as it is illegal for CA citizens to posses most removable magazine type rifles. One exception is the SU-16CA.

  • 0:14, Chris Costa just muzzel sweeped that guys legs, very tactical...

  • Meh. Muzzle awareness isn't muzzle perfection; but way to go Mr Monday morning QB.

  • im pretty sure for LEO and Military purpose the 10rd fixed mag thing wasn't a problem. besides its for training purpose anyways

  • So, wait, how exactly do they do this without 30 round magazines or with featureless AR's?

  • they dont ;)

  • Ah, I see. lol

  • i live in cali n i own a AR-15. quit spreading FUD.

  • I live in Cali, and I own an AR-15, but it has a fixed 10 round magazine.

  • forgot to mention the 10 round part. Yes AR15 + 10 round fixed mag via my maglock.. Prince 50.

  • you cannot use 30 round magazines on an AR unless it is featureless- otherwise it needs to have been a registered assault weapon- some classes will use loaner rifles to get around that restriction- (Shooters Edge @ the Angeles Range does that)

  • why is this getting so many thumbs down? that's the law in CA

  • big no no on 0:19. if im not mistaken the guy to the far right is point his gun at the guy who is laying down or next to the guy who is laying down... Unless his chamber is clear BIG no no

  • @SCCrusaders - He checked the chamber and who cares, these guys are contractors for Iraq and could care less about private range rules.

  • Is this really what you believe? Your a real smart feller arent ya! (That comment gave me a good chuckle!)

  • @Oldblueracer - No, haha I am just making fun of all the youtube "knowitalls"

  • Ah ok :P

  • uhhh how exactly did they have this class in CA period.. you cant drop mags and cant have more than 10rds at a time in a weapon??????????????? If I knew they were gonna be here I would have gone!

  • You can bring in 30 rd magazines into CA for training classes, but they must leave within 30 days.

  • huh? if you live inCA you cannot have them. some will say to claim you had them pre ban well its on you to prove that you did and law to prove you didnt in meantime someone will be in jail! also it is illegal drop mags in CA thus the bullet button.. how can you perform tasks in this class properly timely without truly able to drop the mag... "oh wait Chirs/Travis I have to get "my tool" out to change the mag"

  • @Sidster2 is this true? is there somewhere I can reference this? I'm extremely interested in taking a magpul carbine class in CA but the whole 10round fixed magazine thing is what is stopping me...

  • I shot an e-mail off to a different school, and they mentioned that class attendees that legally own "hi-cap" mags and non-neutered lowers will often bring loaners for students that don't. The range might also have loaner gear, and the instructors might bring loaner gear.

Also, these trainers will understand any legal restrictions and will help you train with what you have.

You could always run a Mini 14, or an M1 Carbine or something.

There's no sense in training with a gun you won't have.

  • asking the question? LE and Civis, too. when and where?

  • Is there a speed "bullet button" reload technique? lol

  • THERE WAS ONE OF THESE HERE IN LA!!!! WHY WASNT I INFORMED. DAMNIT WHEN WAS THIS! Since when do they come to LA? since when do they come to Cali at all?

  • Sometimes it's not announced on their website. I've taken a class and it was full before it was announced.

  • how did they deal with all the damn rules of having an AR in california?

  • @palakaboy yeah, I wonder if there's an exception for training with the detachable magazine issue.

  • @palakaboy its probably mostly military and law enforcement

  • @palakaboy We have to have a bullet button now on all "assault rifles" I can just see a speed reload now with a carbine in one hand and a screwdriver in the other.

  • @palakaboy "Assault Weapons" are legal in California only if they were registered before a certain date in the year 2000. So I assume these guys got their AR's back before the ban.

  • who the Hell is Patrick and why wont he pay attention.. he's FIRED!!!!!

  • yeah indeed - what a fuck up

  • Wow, they actually let you have guns in California?

  • predominantly LEO

  • @powderhappiness maybe they had to agree to use conservative cutouts for targets?

  • Did you sweep his feet at the end there Chris? ;)

  • Lawl... it's nice to see the uber 1337 tactical guys fail every once and a while.
