Many groups have done their own versions of this classic by Van Morrison, but this is the one I think comes closest, yet adding its own special Latino rhythm and flavor!!
This was played on MOR stations instead of the Van Morrison version. Never even knew about the VM version until I heard it years later on an oldies station.
@Imlan Sorry, bro, Van Morrison was the lead singer for the group, Them. Jim Morrison was the lead singer of The Doors until he died. And, yeah I know Van Morrison did the original. Thanks for commenting though
Listen for great music like this on a new radio station called "OffTheCharts" - featuring 70's (and some 80's) lost hits and chart wonders!
Go to Live365.com, type OFFTHECHARTS in the Search box and click on the station logo. The audio stream should begin. Become a VIP member and listen commercial free!
So glad to finally find this on You Tube. Love it! I saw these guys in May at the Star of the Desert Arena on the California/ Nevada border. Great as ever!!
They played this on WIP in Philly instead of Van Morrison's version. In fact, I never knew it was Van Morrison's song until many years later.

El Chicano produced some good tunes! This takes me back to around 1969 when I first
started college. What a trip!

@SOUNDBOYMIKE I didn't realize that. I love the Salas Brothers and Tierra too. Maybe that's one reason I liked this version so much!

I actually prefer this over the original and I think I have some vague distant memories of it playing on the radio when it was out in the early 70's
