  • I had the same thing with my bombay Janet, when we brought are kitten ginger home Janet just when crazy, but after a while they settled down. from time to time ginger would jump on janet and janet would chase ginger. now they eat together side by side. even though they don't like each other they respect one other when it comes to there territory.

  • @pspmerr Wow.. so I guess it ended up working out.. I'm glad to hear that. It just didn't seem like Rachel would ever be willing to budge... LOL

  • My Bombay did the same thing when I invited a "tourist cat" at home ! ;o)))

  • @Caviara yeah, they definitely don't like other cats!!

  • @pearjas Mine likes her father and they often sleep together : he's a Bombay too though... ;o) I guess Bombay like Bombay ! ;o))

  • I must be honest... this video made me laugh so hard!!! I love Rachel <3

  • @iceytina21 haha, well I'm glad it did!! :)

  • wow this is the first vide i seen beautiful rachel hiss

  • @ldit1 I know... very unusual!

  • I'm from London. What accepts do you have? Texan?

  • @NickKunze haha, I wish I knew! I'm in Missouri... not sure why I talk the way I do :P

  • Lol I have a black domestic shorthair that I'm sure has quite a bit of Bombay in him, and he reacts exactly the same way to new cats.

  • @HazerGore1185 Yeah, they are said to be very possessive and "dominating" of other cats - lol

  • @pearjas and dogs and humans lol. My bombay did this when we introduced our new toy poodle puppy to him, he then proceeded to thump her (without claws) for weeks until she "found her place"

  • @Anahsat haha, well at least she "found her place" :)

  • I think that hissing as a sign of disapproval of a situation could be usefully added to Bombay characteristics. That is our Midnight's (Midi) expression when he doesn't like something. Until I saw this video I didn't realize it might be a common trait. BTW we love him to bits. Thanks for posting this video.

  • @malectric It's just so funny watching this as I haven't heard make that noise since!! lol

  • Lol Rachel was pissed

  • @MsMedford haha... yeah, I've not had the guts to try that one again!!

  • Rachel is a little jealous, she has "the only child syndrome" lol

  • @nes11727 Yeah it sent her into a rage!!

  • First it was meow and then hiss?

  • @kjchicago1 yeah, I guess it was... lol.

  • I see Rachel wants a lot of your attention...lol My Bombay, "Coal", got so mad at me watching the computer screen that he peed on it. Bombays are the smartest cat. You can teach them tricks. I taught Coal to touch my hand when he wanted a snack.

  • @DouglasUrantia LOL! That's funny! Maybe I should try to teach Rachel tricks. I've never had a peeing experience with Rachel, so that's good..

  • @DouglasUrantia My 6 months Bombay Gigi does the same, but that's the only trick he can perform so far~~

  • My Bombay was the same with other cats. They are extremely territorial. They like to be the boss cat always.

  • @DouglasUrantia Yeah I found that out the hard way!!

  • I don't think that went so well

  • @lukemn29 LOL - not @ all. Needless to say, that was the only time they "met".

  • @pearjas I don't blame you. Is she an otherwise good cat (i.e. good with kids, dogs, strangers, etc.)? I've been thinking of getting a cat of my own and think that the Bombay or Burmese breeds would be worthy choices.

  • @lukemn29 Yeah, I think the bombay would be a good choice. She doesn't have any problem with people.. and she's been around a dog in the past.

  • @pearjas And she's the nicest cat there is!

  • @kjchicago1 She usually is!

  • @pearjas What was Rachel thinking?

  • @kjchicago1 Wish I knew.. =-/ probably thought that cat was going to take over her territory! haha

  • Comment removed

  • Yup, that's a Bombay. They are one person cats. She's adorable. *chuckle*

  • @absintheangel777 haha.. yeah, I found that one out the hard way!! :P

  • @pearjas Every time when you tell her to stop, she just keeps hissing and going crazy to another cat! A little excited?

  • @kjchicago1 yeah she was I guess

  • @pearjas I can't believe Rachel would act like that to the other cat! Can you?

  • @kjchicago1 I was actually very shocked... to say the least!!

  • LMAO! I wish I could have taken pictures of my Bombay, Merlin, while this was video playing. He was fast asleep on my legs but perked up and even tried putting his nose into the laptop after hearing her. He's never been aggressive towards another cat but will make those noises when threatened. But oh wow it is uncanny how much alike he and Rachel look. Please, more videos :)

  • @0nyxs haha... working on more and hope to have more soon! :)

  • I have a british bombay as well, can pass as you your chipper's twin. He too doesnt like other cats and reacs the same exact way. I tried getting him a little borther (same breed) and he went nuts as well. Its a shame. I hink BB's just dont like other cats in general :(.

  • @albeeinla Yeah, I guess I just have to settle for one cat now. It's strange because before I got my bombay, she lived with another cat, but it was that way with her from the beginning (it was her sister). So if you do try with a bombay, you probably need to start at a young age!

  • @pearjas I have a cat, Delilah, that's part Bombay, and we got her stable mate, Winston, when they were each a year old. They growled and hissed at each other for the first day, but after that, they were best friends.

  • @soldiergirl84 Wow... I don't think my cat could ever tolerate another cat long enough to become friends with one... which is really unfortunate. I'd like to have another one!

  • Hey you intruder!! Get the hell out of my house before I tear you to shreds!!

  • @soldiergirl84 haha, yeah that's what it seemed like she was saying. Such a nice cat acted so mean.. it was amazing.

  • You need to make more videos of Rachel, she is one of the funniest cats I've seen on Youtube.

  • @viletree haha, I know I agree. I will!

  • HEY!! OTHER CAT!! FUCK YOU!!!

  • My cat was like that when he was younger, but then we got 2 other cats and now he doesnt mind have others around

  • @LTD629 I'm sure she would warm up to another kitty eventually, but it would be frustrating nonetheless!

  • @pearjas Very true! my aunt recently dumped her 7 week old kitten on us and my other cats are either ignoring it or hissing at it every chance they get xD but they seem to be slowly getting use to it.

  • @LTD629 That's one of the main reasons it's hard to get another cat... they always hate each other at first!!

  • @pearjas Always though my female is gonna hav kittens soon so i hope my other cats (2 adult males and a male kitten) will be fine with the new additions xD (man i sound like a crazy cat lady)

  • @LTD629 Lol! Sounds like you are going to have your hands full!!

  • Rachel sound like Church offa Pet Sematary .....remind me never to go to a party over your house

  • @Dablkwid0w2008 haha

  • Rachel was like Whhhhaaaa da fugg GET DAT MFER OUTTA HERE!!

  • My cat is just like this. He gets along with almost any other cat, though.

  • @jellytoast97 my cat initially grew up with another one, and they were okay but I think she's just used to being the ONLY one!

  • @whiskr1 haha, yeah, it's definitely not the "typical meow".. that's for sure.

  • @whiskr1 lol!

  • rachel got PUFFEH!!!!!!!!!!!! like my cat when my friends dog comes over. he is also a bombay

  • @firefoxgurl0 haha, yeah, she did NOT like having another cat over. She still hasn't gotten over that day :P

  • All the cats I ever owned were strays so all my cats were always around multiple cats and we own multiple cats.

  • @MrTabby5000 Yeah, I wish I would have gotten two at once..

  • @pearjas

but give it time,if rachel was really angry there would be a cat-fight with fur flying.Cats are very social animals with each other.Even my cats will let the others know when that cat don't want to be bothered.

Here in chicago the stray cats outside need each other for warmth when it gets cold here.

When I took my black cat in she came in with her friend a tabby.I couldn't resist them both.

  • @MrTabby5000 That's awesome! That's a great story. I always feel bad when I see a cat running around here outside..

  • angry cat EVACUATE

  • @tiffsu1 lol

  • Shes very stressed, but if they had an fight that clears the fronts. But not easy. :-)

  • @hieristOL Yes, stressed to say the least!! :P
