Here's my issue with this. I hear all sorts of women bitching about not enough good men. But in my experience, most women don't want good men. They want the biggest asshole they can find. I think she was merely reporting that such a sentiment is one that women in many different countries share. I'm sure it seems that there aren't enough "good" men/women out there to lots of people (male, female, gay, straight, bi, etc.) I think it's much more healthy to approach relationships with the idea of compatibility rather than the other individual being good/bad. That way you can say "so-and-so's a really nice person, but htings just didn't work out between us" instead of "s/he's evil".

It's not completely fair to say that her opinion on China is wrong. Talk to the younger generation in China and they may say that their options have expanded and they have more freedom. Talk to their parents however and I'm sure they would have a completely different account to give. We also have to take into picture those who live in the city/countryside.
