ANTHOLOGY - Bob Nolan's Family & a Rare Recording
In July of 1953 Bob recorded "Tumbling Tumbleweeds" for RCA without the Sons of the Pioneers. Marilyn Tuttle, Lou Dinning and Rose Lee Maphis sang backup for him. "He sang very softly, " Marilyn recalls, speaking of Bob's powerful voice. "We were standing right next to him, about 10 feet away, and I could hardly hear him. In this particular session, his voice was very soft, subdued." And yet the power is evident in the recording.
