@Idelia412 I'm having trouble hearing the organ through my system, but of course there were so many organs that had a great tone in the 60's-70's that many would dismiss because it wasn't as liquid sounding as a Hammond tone wheel organ. Personally I love the sound of transistorized organs just as much as Hammond tone wheel sound ( and a Hammond can sound incredible without a Leslie BTW). If you look on the ORGAN LIST you can find out which organ used which tone generation system. LOVE Kawai T5!
This song was made for a Hammond B3 Organ. No other Organ sounds as good as a B3!!! Would have liked hearing your rendition on a B3 Hammond Organ! I do like your style! Thanks for Posting!
It looks very much like the Kawai model tha I used to play when I was a small kid. I had a E250H. The extra 3 preset buttons compared to a E250 suggest that is must be a slightly higher range. Could not tell if there are 5 auto Arpeggio buttons on the top panel from the angle.
That's not a piano. That looks like a Kawai electronic organ. Not a Hammond. Very cool to see one of these being played. Can you add "Kawai organ" as a tag so people can find this video? Thanks.
If I recall correctly, that is probably an E450 sold in the late 70's early 80's. I have its big brother, the E650. Still works and gets played regularly.
THis comment is old so hopefully you'll reply soon. BUt I'm picking up a E650 from someone tomorrow! And I was wondering will it work for classic rock organ sounds. How does it compare to a hammond? I'm talking like the SPencer Davis Group sound?
@jordyr77 Hi, I've tested some Kawais and Yamahas and as long as your organ has sliders to control reverb and depth, you'll be ok. Actually, most of the "hammond" sound is done by the Leslie speaker, so I would reccomend to add one to your organ.
Finally!!! I've been longing to see this tune played on the Hammond for a very long time!
Excellent playing style, very close to Walter Wanderley's . Too bad the audio is poor though. Any chance of of another attempt with better audio quality?
The organ sounds awful...sounds like a toy
