H.R. 676 - public option for health care, plus various incentive and regulations for insurance companies, expansion of medicare and Veteran's Assistance. (No real plan to pay for all of this with the current deficit)
H.R. 3200 - Mandate of health insurance, which basically says that if you don't have health insurance, men with guns will come to your house and throw you in jail.
We already have "death panels" with private insurance companies, and yes, we will have "death panels" with the public option, as well.
Health care is a LIMITED RESOURCE, which means that we can't simply give out EVERYTHING everyone WANTS. We can't cover EVERYTHING, so some people WILL be denied services, even if it means they may DIE.
The difference is that you will be FORCED TO PAY for the public option, whether you want it or not, with the violent power of the state backing up the demand.
HOnestly, as a person whose grandmother died a few years ago partly because some of her medication couldn't be afforded by her becasue of the insurance companies, this death panel crap is utterly offensive, to put it lightly.
The really sad thing is they had to take out the part about end of life planning because it was being misconstrued as a death panel. So we let STUPIDITY WIN! That sucks.

We already have "death panels" with private insurance companies, and yes, we will have "death panels" with the public option, as well.
Health care is a LIMITED RESOURCE, which means that we can't simply give out EVERYTHING everyone WANTS. We can't cover EVERYTHING, so some people WILL be denied services, even if it means they may DIE.
The difference is that you will be FORCED TO PAY for the public option, whether you want it or not, with the violent power of the state backing up the demand.
