  • Gracias Horacio por pasar tus conocimientos, y sobre todo por la sencillez que te caracteriza.

  • Horacio it's a drummer that worths for ten. Love his accent by the way ^^

  • his signatura drumstick are the most comfortable and lightest ones in the market

  • This is a master lesson, Horacio is giving us la llave , one of my favorites drummers of all time

  • First of all, Horacio Hernandez is one of the best drummers in the world... secondly, to all you Travis Barker haters.... do yourself a huge favor.... listen to ENEMA OF THE STATE... and just analyze all the drum parts that he puts in there...

  • Such an inspiring vid, thanks Horacio !

  • Perfect basic lesson for modern drummers! Every drummer must see this!

  • Surfaaaces

  • 0 dislikes... seems like everyone who has watched this video respects hernandez, right on

  • Now just to translate this to the left foot!!!

  • Thanks very much Negro...!!!!!

  • Yeah, i think this is an usefull tool to practise coordination and to begin with latin rythms! u rock horacio! :D

  • even if your not a drummer (like me) this is verry usefull

  • que gusto verte triunfando..

  • Someone mentioned Travis Barker in a comment to a Horatio video , that was funny

  • @nengstro yeah you mentioned him

  • Kpbdrum:

Upload one of your videos, and we will see how good you are?

  • he is so good!!!

    bien horacio!

  • Super nice guy, met him once, autographed a video.

  • Yeah that is cool. What helped me was to play the left hand clave mega-slow before applying the right hand meter, either in 4/4 or 6/8. This helped me to hear how all the strokes are played together.

  • I aim Josei Martinezz

  • i dnt kno any notes ..i play by my ears but i gotta learn

  • lui è un mito ha un indipendenza allyucinenante, entra a far parte dei mostri della batteria e della musica come dave Weckl e Steve Smith, ho preso i biglieti per il concerto alla casa del jazz a roma su listicket... grande El Negro!

  • Can anybody tell me, is the first beat on the "2" side of the clave altered to sync with the triplet in the 12/8: instead of the first beat on the "2" side being played on the "and" of 3 when the sub-division is 1/8th notes, it is shifted slightly to the second beat of the third triplet in the 12/8? Or does it even matter and should I just go out and get a real job?

  • @kpbdrums Can you say this in English? ;~)

  • Does it really matter what color he is ?? How about listening & learning from what he's trying to pass on ?

  • @gooneybird47 It's actually a mask, he's a green monit from the planet Moniton

  • drumric305 y oliver311087! que carajo hacen hablando en ingles entonces!!

  • TUTIFRUTY

  • he's not as black to be entitled "el negro"

  • @Drumric305 You'd have to be latin or from the caribbean to understand why he's called "el negro". Doesn't necessarily have to be black to be called that way.

  • @Oliver311087 well i'm cuban....i gues he's mulato

  • @Drumric305 That's where you're wrong, it's not about his skin color at all, it's more about the way he plays, his rhythm, el tumbao con el que toca. I'm Dominican by the way.

  • @Oliver311087 oh it's that stereo type thing. Yes mosts black people are known to play with a certain feel or groov. I just didn't connect the two things.

  • @Drumric305 horacio is not a black dude, lmao

  • Horacio graba lecciones en español XDD' compa eres la ley (y)

  • Tutifrutty!

  • sabor negro !

  • two different...SureFACES...haha. this guy is definitely in my top 10. Learning latin drums because of this guy.

  • I love the way clave feels in 6/8.

  • This is one of the best explanations of the concepts of clave rhythms I've seen. And from one of the masters as well!

  • the best

  • interesting lesson! keep it up

  • which goes to show you that technique isn't everything!

Feel and being informed in the kind of music you're playing can make up for any difference in technique and in fact being musical often trumps being technically 'perfect'.

That being said, I've never heard his technique getting in the way of his playing great music.

  • musical maaaaaaaaaaaath :P

  • waw

  • ¡Very interesting!

    P.
