After winning the silver medal, the Nigerian women went to the nearest Internet Cafe and sent 10000 email messages to people infoirming them that they had won a foreign lottery.
@frutino82 Try another 40 meters and maybe the Germans would have won. In any event, I hate when people say that. Everybody knows going into the race how long it will be. People plan to run 400 meters and don't worry about what happens after they cross the finish line.
Does any one know what 4x400m race it was that the German women came from behind at the end of the final leg and won the gold medal? That was a very thrilling race I'd love to see again.
Opara should be digusted wit herself. Giving up 20 metres in only 100 metres to a runner who didnt even make the 100 final like Kim Graham, going from 10 metres up to 10 metres down in the homestretch alone. If she had even just given up 15 metres in the last 100 which would have still sucked Nigeria would have won easily. She ran like a hack. I was happy the Americans won but if I were one of the Nigerians I would have been furious with the useless Opara.
@sportnerd112 To be fair to Charity she ran a decent split 50.6 which isn't bad and faster than Obalabi first leg from NGR. It was just Graham ran a storming 49. split which was quite fast and shocking.
@wookieboychew remember that is with a rolling start so a 50.6 translates into something like a 51.5 which isnt good at all really. Most of all though she could have shown alot more fight in the last 100 of her leg even if she was tired. She was basically standing and not moving.
ngr were the form team as they had individual players that could do damage and they nearly won cos ogunkoya vs clarke, level , ogunkoya had the form over her that sason
Insane leg from Grit Bruer! she has to be one of the best relay runners make or female ever.
