Somebody may get pissed at me for saying this, but DK Country Returns makes me think of NSMB Wii at times (which is a good thing); it's probably because they're both classic Nintendo platformers remade by Retro Studios.

You know what, this is different from the other Donkey Kong Country games, and I know that... but I've decided I want to like this. It looks great and it sounds beautiful. I want to enjoy this game. So while I would normally hate it for not being a classic controller game and for using wii mote waggle controls I've decided to try and let it grow on me. This game looks like it was made with love, I'd rather try to like it than be a fanboy stuck in the past, impossible to please.

As to why Nintendo and Retro Studios chose to omit the Kremlings from Donkey Kong Country Returns, it would seem that nobody really knows.
