@mystfireandlulu its clearly a female. Male cats are much more independent, generally speaking, you would not see a male cat doing this. They do love but they have a more.. male personality.

Aww! Abbies seem to love grooming others, I have one who likes sitting on the sofa behind me and giving me a head and shoulder massage as I watch films. Washes my hair and paws at my shoulders, I'm guessing he likes the salts in my hair. I remember he once licked the tears of my face when I was upset which would seem to support that theory.
