  • One of the best shows I've ever heard them do. And this was caught on tape and got out! Imagine all the great stones gigs tht were never recorded, and if so are sitting in a basement somewhere. Never to b heard again. Think about it. The stones are the best. They are the greatest. I mean. Jus listen to the music. You' ll know wht I mean. It's great. Long live the stones!!!!

  • my favourite bootleg ever right here ;p

  • 2 people were holding the laptop upside down ...

  • @yeahwhatever71 I heard the same thing, and all I can say is that it would only be fitting, and make it worth watching them in concert live again:) here's hoping Keef does the right thing:D

  • What a great concert!

  • Rambler/Women/All Down/Rip.......that is all.

  • Meeting Glyn Johns is some feat my friends. He engineered not only some of the best Stones stuff but the best who stuff- I'm pretty sure he did both Quadraphenia and Who's Next. Too bad he wasn't an approachable guy, I'm sure he's got a wealth of info. Nice try though.

  • Sorry, broadband o118 I thought this was Glyn Johns.

  • @shawnfinewines I think Glyn had fallen out with them in a big way by this time and his brother had taken over. Could be wrong though!

I actually met Glyn Johns backstage at a Who gig circa '81 and asked him about the Stones and why Taylor left the band. In a nutshell, he told me to fuck off.

I don't think the Stones treated him too well.

  • This stuff is mind blowing. I think by this time Gyn Johns knew to put the sound on Mick T's guitar past the little red mark on the sound boardKeith kept their since he joined the band. I can listen to this over and over. kg441 is the man.

  • this is my new favourite youtube channel ;p

  • I heard a rumor that Keith was tossing the idea around of having Mick T. participate in the 50 year anniversary bash. Man, if they would just go on tour, let us hear these magical songs with that lineup...

  • God, this stuff is so great, particularly Mick Taylor. Why didn't they pack it in at their peak instead of going so fucking badly downhill. Great mix by Andy Johns.

  • great show!

  • This is exactly how any musician would want his band to sound live. This is Sex, Drugs, and Rock and Roll.

  • MICK TAYLOR ruled with THE ROLLING STONES 1969-1974.

I CAN'T COMPARE THEM TO ANYONE ELSE. THERE IS

JUST SO MUCH EXCELLENT GUITAR , NOT POLISHED, BUT

RAW AND NATURAL...One day soon, they will all be gone,

so I really want this now. This CD is not currently UN-AVAILABLE

    IN THE USA.

  • I just can't believe how good Taylor is on this stuff. God given talent. And now he is broke.

  • @broadband0118 He was... Awesome talent... Easy and impressive! ... Great great show!

Greatest rock and roll band in the world - obviously...

  • they were toally at their peak, tho substance use does actually and hilariously show through at times in this show. I actually remember seeing the "lines" for the amps "put down and laid out", so....lol "Midnight Rambler" and "Street Fighting Man"? I mean c'mon...lol it's all good, those were really the good old days we would wish to reflect on later in life...cheers!

  • Is this recording from a different show then the Brussels Affair bootleg that is now officially released by the Stones?

  • @MrRobin14669 as far as stonesarchive says - no

  • @MrRobin14669 as far as stonesarchive says , no

  • @MrRobin14669 I think its the same show with supposedly "remastered" sound

  • @AliceNchainz011 Angie sounds from a different show, please compare the two versions.

  • Excellent live recording, probably better than Ya Yas'

  • . ''75 will be different and we'll enjoy the question again they're better than zep' at this point,i think everything else too good year's for music and we won.

  • AWWWWWWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • this was fuckin great! it's weird that the majority of the stones fans (in contrast to led zep fans) don't know that they did they're greatest live performances 69-75

  • @keeffan49 They didnt beacause is not true LMAO.

  • 1.Brown sugar 0:03 2.Gimme shelter 3:37 3.Happy 8:55 4.Tumbling dice 12:20 5.Dancing with Mr.D 17:25 6.Angie 21:52 7.You cant always get what you want 26:20 8.Midnight rambler 37:18 9.Honky tonk women 49:57 10.All down the line 52:59 11.Rip this joint 56:34 12.Jumping jack flash 58:35 13.Street fighting man 1:01:49 .
  • Rip this joint all down the line muthafuckas! One of the best rock bands of all time at the peak of their majesty

  • some of the finest live recordings of the Stones ever!! Mick Taylor influence... ?

  • what a wonderful performance

  • i can't believe my ears

  • THANK YOU , THANK YOU for putting this up !

  • Kick ass music from a golden era... comparisons aren't necessary. All the great ones rocked in their own way and the Stones are rocking in theirs here. My personal fave incarnation, Mick Taylor on lead... fuckin A good music

  • this is sooo amazing...best live Stones recording i have ever heard without a doubt

  • @jtragic love you live was pretty good too

  • yes ! and the person who Recorded and Mixed this is a Genius!

sound like this again , stones

  • Unbelievable gig...had it on CD a while now. You lot will think I'm soft but the version of Angie is killer!

  • One thing you can compare though is the vocal range of Jagger and Plant.Jagger is a performer who sings ,Plant has a top voice.

  • Where are the famous Taylor's solos and improvisation ?

HO WAIT ITS STONES LOL !

To be serious, excellent and epic performance, but there is much better...

  • Why spoil it by comparing the Stones and Zeppelin?

They are just two different bands .I always liked both .(they were both unique in their own way)

  • Been a Stones fan since the '70s.I think the Taylor era was a very good one but different then the early Stones' times with Bryan Jones. One think I was not happy about this time was the overuse of horn sections which made the sound less clear.I have a lot of time for Taylor,Wood is ok but he just did the job afterwards and he also came at a time that the band was not producing the previous years' music. As for Mick,I cab say after all these years that his voice has been massively overrated

  • What kills me is this: they could still sound this good. They just need Mick Taylor to join them for their 50th anniversar tour! Put Ronnie on bass guitar, and voila!

  • 17:32 - Dancing with Mr. DYNAMITE! What a killer version!!

  • @olimpio50 agreed much better than the thin studio version

  • Fucking good!

  • Some tracks are different on Brussel Affair than on my 33rpm Bedspring Symphony. Is it ? or just the mixing that is ?

  • @wn1959 That describes it just perfectly.. If you just now made that up, i hereby nominate you for the nobel prize for internet literature mr wn1959!

  • THE ROLLING STONES ...FOREVER

  • mick taylor, nuff said.

  • what a lot of guff

  • best concert they ever did in all, second was that famous texas concert, philly they had a great one ya iin that order 72,73 they could do no wrong, hate to say it mick taylor was a great part of it,well the philly our im from around there soo of course im gonna say but listen seeme they liked playin there crowd was great stones admitt crowd effected there play, after mick left they made some good songs keith needed a wild partner and ronwood was it,i think thats half y he left dont now but 692 72#1

  • compared to the '72 shows, taylors playing isn't as good. Still means he's awesome though.

  • @spyonthesoftparade

i get the feeling that the whole band did less blow on the '73 tour (&) their playing reflected so. to be more specific,i think that Mick T was more laid-back than he was on '72 us show's

.. playing on the us tour was nut's fast to my ear.

  • My gods : MT, KR ...and kg441, never late in supplying us with gorgeous recordings.

  • Thank you thank you thank you for posting this! Shame I wasn't there, but lucky I can still listen to it, thnx!!!

  • LOL arguments about concerts held 40 years ago.............2 funny! How about be thankful for the technology that now allows us ALL 2 appreciate these classics and who cares who was "better". In my book "better" is who I am enjoying at that particular time! I just so happen to really enjoy the 69-73 Stones LOL!

  • Oh La-La!!! Seriously I think that this is the best live performance of Dancing With Mr D / You Can't Always Get What You Want and crazily great Midnight Rambler mainly thanks to Mick Taylor genious guitar... all numbers are fantastic, oh, I wish I could see the video back from October 17, 1973. Actually on that very day I had my own live gig in my university in St.Petersburgh trying hard to be as close as possible to Mick Taylor, playing Love In Vain and Jumpin' Jack Flash - thank you kg441!!!

  • If only MT had stayed with the Stones, what a band they COULD have been......

  • thank you for putting this up, never heard of particular show before now--its just a shot away ...and the greatest

  • the stones aren't about solos - they're about interplay - most bands, don't explore this. if anything is bad here it's the soul-less lead guitar and horrible sax

  • i facking love this!

  • Coolest concert with the Stones .. in line with get yer ya-Yas Out. Mick T plays melodic and fabulous solo and Keith banging chords of such rough and masculine toughness. Love it!

  • Comment removed

  • Among the best concerts in the best period AND with a great sound quality, matching Get yer ya-ya's out 's ! What is still amazing is the number of watchers ! Only 10217 !

  • WOW!!! Thanks for one of the best posts I've ever seen on youtube and I'm an addict to youtube music posts

  • This has my all time favorite performance of Happy! This just made my day.

  • I saw The Rolling Stones in September 1970 in Vejlby Risskov Hallen, Denmark, and have seen them five times since without Mick Taylor. They are still a fabulous show band, but the rock and roll band they were with Mick Taylor and raw, almost punk, Keith they never became since.

  • krisp est concert ive heard im tellin ya ,so in synk,so great ,smoke and listen

  • In fact .. after listen this totally and 2 times , i think it's better than STP TOUR ! Mick Taylor is powerfull and Richards sound better than 1972! For Mick Jagger , it's sad that we havnt the video , i would have look him dance / moove and say if it was better than 1972 .. Anyway the Stones Touring Part is the reference of rock'n roll for me .

  • Wow! Some memories! I was there ,at Forest National. In those days, when the Stones were coming, the authorities were going crazy. The Police sent their own "police montèe" and we were packed against these horses outside..but we got two shows, that day ;-)

  • the best concert of them by far

  • we can all bitch about the golden years in the studio, but when they were live, 69-73 are defo the best years!

  • rolling stones at their best live here, better than even zepplin at this point, but then mick taylor left, never as good again when ron wood joined pity thank god for these recordings.

  • @MrKeefrichards 100% agreement. Mick Taylor just seem to know how to fold in dynamite solos into the tunes. I've often heard it said if you didn't see the Stones w/ Mick Taylor you didn't see the Stones. It's a damn shame that Jagger and Richards let their egos ruin the situation. They were better than Zep at this time. They were a true Rock and Roll band and Zep was something different. Nothing against Zep, they were great but in a live concert nothing can match the Stones with Taylor on lead.

  • @juscurious nah man zepp was always better, they did so much more musically in their shows than the stones and they were superior musicians.

  • @deafnblind77 i saw zepplin and the stones in concert at this time stones were without doubt the better band musically and put on more of a show jagger was always amazing best front man in the world just my opinion

  • @deafnblind77the stones could blow away zepplin at this point in their career they were at there peek even jimmy page said we were not as good as the stones when mick taylor was in the band fact! musically taylor did better guitar solos than jimmy could, no musician could argue with that ,when ronnie wood joined then i would agree with you about zepp

  • @MrKeefrichards WHAT A JOKE LOL, give me the interview said that please....

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM what do you mean what a joke' the only joke is you actually dont believe people prefer the stones to zepp get over it

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM what do you mean what a joke' the only joke is you actually dont believe people prefer the stones to zepp as for the other comment zepp superior on every level now that is a joke the stones is a far more important band than zepp ever will be and there still going strong get over it

  • @MrKeefrichards Stones greater than Led Zeppelin? What a joke, I await your arguments, I noted that you discuss with someone who has listened to a majority of bootlegs groups talked about and that I am not a troll, I look forward to your arguments,).

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM i havent got the time or inclination if you think zepp is better than the stones you keep on believing it

  • @MrKeefrichards Ahahahaha, like all fans of stones, you are unable to hold a discussion, open your ears and accept the truth, I am also a fan of the Stones as Zep, I know recognize faults and qualities.

  • @MrKeefrichards Excuse me. Led Zeppelin was performing 3 + hour concerts by 1973 blowing the roof off of venues like Madison Square Garden. And this show by the Stones is an hour long??? Like, I don't think the Stones EVER blew Zep off the stage. Not quite. The Stones are in a different category of rock'n roll than Zep. It's comparing apples to oranges!

  • @cutis1000 The things I've never liked about Zeppelin is 1. Robert Plant's voice is a little cheesy and 2. They sometimes got into Spinal Tap-esque indulgences ("Bron Yar Stomp", or whatever the fuck it's called).

  • Comment removed

  • @MrKeefrichards i don't think it is a matter of comparing the 2 bands really. both were good bands but plant was boring to watch when mick was running around entertaining people. all plant did was stand there and scream....i never wanted to be a robert plant....what a horrible voice shouting away like he did

that said.....bring on your 50'th stones

  • @platter1000 yeah i agree zepp and stones very different bands stones more exciting live with mick doing his moves and having mick taylor on guitar at this point they really were the greatest band on earth at this point brussels affair is a great live recording at this time.

  • @MrKeefrichards I was lucky enough to see the Stones on this tour and also Zeppelin in 1971. They were probably the two most memorable gigs of my life but you are dead right, Mick Taylor was the greatest player ever. Even after all these years his playing still sounds sublime.

  • @broadband0118 What show in 1971 ?

  • @AZEIDJSKSQMM It was in a little club in Coventry and it was one pound to get in - that's about 2 dollars in your money (I'm assuming you are American). Happy days.

  • @deafnblind77 Please don't compare legendary musicians, why do people do that? Zeppelin and Stones during their peak were playing completely different styles and genres despite having their roots in blues music. It's just about understanding them. Jimmy Page and Mick Taylor were two of the greatest guitarists of all time in their prime, but in DIFFERENT ways. Just like Watts and Bonham were different back then. Your heroes wouldn't like hearing that you are comparing them that's for sure.

  • @Atrvexo i'll compare who i want with who ever i want without thinking twice or giving two shits about it. You can compare them because they within the same genre and both come from similar roots just a different interpretation and there are superior interpretations and zepp happens to superior on every level in my opinion.

  • @juscurious It's funny how everyone assumes it was Jagger and Richards ego's that caused Taylor to leave. I heard an interview from 1971 where Taylor said he was creatively satisfied playing with the Stones. In later years he said that leaving the Stones, which was his decision, was a bad move. Whenever I've heard interviews with Keith I can't imagine he was the egomaniac people paint him to be. Jagger yes, but Keith just loved playing music and loved playing with Taylor.

  • @elgrovez13 I mean't wasn't creatively satisfied... wow, should've read it before posting.

  • @deafnblind77 dont get me wrong i love zepplin ive been loving you is a great solo from jimmy there just different kinds of band stones more rock and roll zepplin more rock hell i play loads of led zepplin in my band always goes down well in clubs jimmy didnt view stones as inferior though jimmy actually plays on a lot of early stones records when he was a session player stones not as good with ron wood that is for sure you must agree about 1 thing both bands have in common a great drummer.

  • Mick Taylor show ... Nothing to add

  • Great music! Clean and pure. Thanks for posting!

  • this has to be released world wide ,surely they are not holding it back because they dont want to show the world how good mick taylor was .this is a living document of the greatest rock and roll band of all time at the top of their game

  • My work day has gotten so much better since discovering all these live Stones concerts!

  • They Rocked this Hard again ! You just haven't heard it yet !!

  • The sound quality of this recording is unequalled. Each instrument, including the piano in the background, is clear and distinct.

  • I can't believe the Stones don't continue to make this album available (at least I haven't seen it), Mick Taylor is the star on this set, and his skills were never recorded better. Maybe that's why...

  • oh ,time machine take me to any 1973 concert by the stones ,thank you oops im in2011 this sucks

  • Sublime rock´n´roll - perhaps the best ever recorded.

  • is a shame they didnt do a video of this concert ,who knows they might have, one best live stones concert ive ever heard

  • wow compare this to la connection 75..... the band sound druggy and slowed down in 75 this is great

  • @crackernumber2 well nowts gunna sound like this pal brussels gig its fuckin masterpece. respect man. cool

  • Listen to the master Mick Taylor on Lead Guitar. Best Rolling Stones lineup was with Mick Taylor 1969-74.

  • hands down the best and most blistering version of Midnight Rambler ever! The guitars are just raging!

  • I first bought this on Vinyl in 1977. Single Album. I still have it.

The Stones never Rocked this Hard again.

  • @demonsbutterfly Yes mate it's a good little bootleg. Kinda gotta be semi-legal 'cos BBC 6 Music radio recently put it on as a 'Concert Hour' quite late at night.

  • So awesome... tks for posting!

  • Fantastic! This has always been my favorite live Stones recording. Thanks for posting. A must listen.

  • Arguably the greatest single show of the 73 European Tour... Heck for that matter maybe the greatest The Stones have ever performed on any tour.

  • @truckVES This is the best live set EVER friend. There isn't anything to match this from anyone else. It gave way to poodle rock and that annoying, rythmless hard 'rawk' style of the late 70's - 80's where fitting 100 guitar notes into a bar became something to aspire toward. It was drastic excess and overkill - trying to surpass the greatness and perfection displayed here by the stones and failing badly. This is the absolute pinnacle of rock'n'roll without become parody.

  • @Underground906 Yes sir, you are correct.... The best EVER. No argument from me. "Greatness" "perfection" and "absolute pinnacle of rock 'n' roll" certainly apply to the band in 1973!

  • @truckVES You, are a man with fine tastes no doubt ;)

  • @Underground906 72 Madison square garden was better for me ..

  • good music...wierd video
