  • @JCHRISTLUVSYOU Thanks for your comment. Car was "Desktop" Dynoed at over 1,000 hp when first built. It was running bad when I took this video. Only on one carb and not even getting into the secondaries. Had just come out of winter storage. Timing was way off, backfiring, etc. So don't go by the sound alone. Today, it runs great. Thanks for your comment.

  • You drive that thing barefoot ? Nice haha ..

    :D

  • if you dont mind what was that switch in 0:15

  • @gunbojason That's an MSD Ignition Timing Controller. I can advance or retard the ignition timing depending on what I need at the time. Don't even need to get out of the car and mess with the distributor. Once it's setup, I can start the car without putting excessive pressure on the starter and flywheel and then advance the timing for more performance. It's well worth its cost. Thanks for asking.

  • @meangene1000 oh nice i didn' t know this thing existed and thanks for answering

  • nice alignment

  • @berlow7 Thanks. I use 2 x 4's that I run along the rims and down the side of the car. Works well.

  • @FerrarisRock By the way, the engine weight is significantly less than 800lbs, even with the blower. Don't forget the aluminum intake, aluminum heads, aluminum pistons and super-light headers which extend to the rear. Also, the flywheel has been lightened. I keep waiting for it to explode....but I don't overdo the revs. Engine built by a racing engine builder down in Mississippi. Thanks again for your research and comments.

  • LOL being barefoot adds a nice touch. Awesome T!

  • @71Merc

Thanks Merc. I have no choice about being barefoot. The gas pedal and brake pedal are too close to each other and it's not safe to drive with shoes on.

By the way, for all of you folks out there, when I took this video THE CAR WAS RUNNING ON ONLY ONE CARBURETOR! No, I'm not kidding. The linkage was screwed up. If you look at the rear carb thru the windshield, you'll see that its linkage never moves. It's now running on BOTH carbs plus the NOS system. Goes like a batouttahell!

  • got a helluva exhaust header leak!!

  • @SPEEDFREKIN Thanks, I know. I replaced the gaskets some time ago. Tuned it up and got the carbs almost dialed in. Runs a lot better now. Having a hell of a time stopping an oil leak from a chrome oil pan. Need to get rid of the chrome one and put in a billet with a Felpro gasket.

    Thanks again for the comment.

  • Hey meangene, that car is a beast. Every Cop in my area would stop you just to look at that thing. Must be lots of fun to roar around town in that machine. It turns more than a few heads I am sure. Thanks.. Cheers.

    Wayne..

  • @Seazer009 Thanks for your comment. Yes, the car is a blast to drive and show. All of the local cops know the vehicle and they love it. No tickets because I'm careful driving around town. But I do get on it when I need to merge with traffic as I enter an interstate. Brutal acceleration and way too easy to lose control, which I've done on a number of occasions. It will be even faster once the NOS system is upgraded. Hope you don't ever read about me in the obituaries! Thanks again.

  • @1969bikerchick

Thanks for your comment. Zero to sixty in just over 1.7 seconds isn't a dog. 8.1 seconds at 158 mph in the quarter mile isn't a dog either. Granted, it was running badly the day I made the video, the first time I ran it having just come out of Winter Storage. Putting in a new NOs system soon that will add 300 more horsepower. And yes, I'm scared to drive it. But that's a good thing.

  • Whats with the dial your tunring at the beginning?

  • @meangene1000 I never would have thought that, beautiful car by the way mat eeven though you can only see the inside but it sounds great. I thought it was the nitrous or something hahaha.

  • nice jesus sandals:)

  • @pimpinitcj

Thanks, I like 'em too. I can't drive the car with them on...the gas pedal, brake pedal and steering column are all to close to one another. Unsafe to try. So, off come the sandals......

  • OK Gene.....love the sound....I saw you get on the highway entrance, but I guess you didn't record it on the highway.....I was hoping you would OPEN IT UP! That's a lot of power per pound! Drive carefully with it....

    Rudy

  • @astrorudy1

Thanks for the cautionary stuff, Rudy. Yeah, I know.

In this video, I actually open it up twice, but only for a second each time. The first one is at the 1.59 minute mark, where I lose control of the car. You'll see it jump off the road to the right because the rear wheels were smoking. Scary but cool.

The second time that I open it up for a split second is at the 2.34 minute mark, under the overpass. I scared the hell out of the guy coming onto the highway.

    Cheers, Gene

  • Thanks Denise. Now you have the directions. The street rod is waiting for you. Looking forward to it!
