I myself have been experimenting a little bit with making images appear three-dimensional by using two-dimensional layers and offsetting them from one another. Although I do have one question, if you will: How exactly do you get crystal-clear photos of foreground objects that are moving in real time (for example, the floating splashes of water)?
Do you take pictures of them at another time, and then later insert them into the final product?
@EggChops This effect was achieved by taking a single still photo and creating the layers in photoshop by painting in the area "behind" the layers that have been cut out. Then in Motion (or AE) I created a 3D environment, spaced out the layers, and added a camera move. I've learned that the effect is most powerful with photos like this one-- frozen moments of action.
Please make a tutorial.
