Its simple, they want to make lots of money off this movie,,, so they play it off like it is actually occurring. Its a great advertising scheme,,, remember they did the same thing with The Blair Witch Project and that raked in millions because some people thought it was true. The human guy you see in one of the trailers get's infected and starts to become something else. Then he get's hunted by the group he use to work for MNU.
