hello I have an amd athlon x4 635 overclocked to 4x3.58Ghz also 3Gb ram ddr3 and 9600GT 512mb. I can play gta iv with around 50-58 fps average on medium to high settings and all in high around 38-40fps How can I increase my pc in games? I m talking about it is better to change only the cpu with the same ram and Gpu or to change only the gpu?

and i cant run this game smoothly on max settings, but what if i upgrade to say...an i5 760 ? will the graphics card become a bottleneck and will i gain enough to run it smoothly. should i go for an i7 ?

@MikkelKihl01 No, that GPU is mobile and you can only run on medium/low settings at high resolution. I've got a 5850 OC'd and with eyefinity I can't even get it to run on high/very high smoothly, I will be adding another 5850 soon though. Anyways, try medium on everything then bench mark and if its below 30 fps try low settings or mixed (low/medium) and see if it runs above 40 fps average. If so theres your max

@speakers11223 you need at least a power supply with 550 watts or more and i recommend more ram, and I'm not sure if the graphic card going to fit you're computer because i don't no what motherboard you're running on :( and one more thing if you going to play this game i don't think your processor can handle it because it is cpu demand game, maybe on low graphic settings, sorry for my bad English but i hope you understand it

@ThorkGonsam you're system is quite good :) my system is dual-core 2,66 ghz and 8800 gts 320 mb and 3 gb of ram and it running gta 4 smoothly, not on high graphic settings but on resolution of 1600*1000 and a combination with high and medium settings ;)

@shadylanem oh also your screen size matters. if you're running full 1920x1080+ then the 5770 wont run it smooth. But if youve got it hooked up to a 14 inch 1280x800 or so then it'll have absolutely no problem.
