  • he says guys we got to do something russel almost cost them lol

  • The 6ers were not a new franchise. The Syracuse Nationals moved to Philadelphia and became the 6ers.

  • Celtic's proud!

  • Too many great players in NBA history to pick just one almighty great one????

  • :30 is taken out of context. If I'm not mistaken Wilt gave that answer in an interview conducted during the NBA 50 greatest players of all time weekend. Wilt was referring to his attitude when playing on the Phili blacktop courts; basically letting those street ballers know what time it was when he showed up.

  • PHILLY WILL ALWAYS BE BETTER THAN BOSTON.

  • @JayFeliceW agreed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "Boston is dead". Nice...

  • As a player Bill Russell averaged 11 NBA Championships in 13 seasons..

  • 3:25 You know that line from the song Won't Get Fooled Again "Meet the new boss, same as the old boss"? I guess that's not always a bad thing.

5:29-5:53 Sums up the Celtics and how it's always been.

    6:02 Well that's a little....misleading lol

  • like wilt wearing a green shirt in the interview.

    havelchek stole the ball!!!!

  • like wilt wearing a green shirt in the interview.

  • Best two centers in the game. Best offensive player vs best defensive player. I love how the Celtics franchise has always been about teamwork, hard work, and defense. Look down the line of the teams especially the ones with a championship and you see that all of them share those same qualities.

  • Why the C's lost in 195758, Russell averaged 16.6 ppg andf 22.7 rpg. Russell was voted the NBA MVP The NBA reasoned that other centers were better all-round players than Russell, but no player was more valuable to his team. The C's won 49 games and easily made the first berth in the 1958 NBA Playoffs, and made the 1958 NBA Finals against the St. Louis Hawks. They split the first 2 games, then Russell went down with a foot injury in Game 3 and could no longer participate in the playoffs.

  • I love where the video ends..."In 1969 they would finish with their worst record in 13 years". What it doesn't tell you is that in 1969 the Celtics finished just 48-34 in 4th place and they won it all.

  • The best part is in 1969 the Celtics won game 7 IN LOS ANGELES TO WIN the Celtics 11th NBA title and RUSSELL WAS PLAYER COACH...

Lucky Wilt??? That's why Havlicek is in the hall of fame He was lucky....LOL

  • Chamberlain on Russell is a great YouTube video.

  • could an nba team from the 60's compete with teams 2day? i dont think so!

  • Uh, dillweed, today's pussies couldn't survive in the rules and roughness of the NBA in those days. Write back when you grow up.

  • Give me a break. Do you think human beings have evolved into faster and stronger and more talented people sense the 60's ? The answer that any scientist would give you is "NO". We are still the same humans as we were in the 60's. These players could compete into today's game. Read a book.

  • The difference-Wilt bragged about himself Bill Russell just played his ass off and won 11 rings in 13 years. I thank God I was there to watch most of them. R.I.P. Wilt from a Celtics fan.

  • Please if Rusell was on the Philly and Chamberlian was on Boston, Wilt would have won 11 titles. Your addiction to titles as an absolute measurement of a player's quality is comical.

  • go celtics rip wilt

  • Russell/Chamberlin Back in the Day

    Shaq/Duncen Today

  • @Colidape nooooooo shaq comparison ok but tim ducan n wilt naw no where close

  • Coincidentally, the Sixers franchise, (back when they were in Syracuse) were the last team before 1967, to eliminate the Celtics in the playoffs back in '56..

  • St Louis Hawks beat the Celts in the 58 finals.

  • The Celtics-76ers rivalry stood the test of time..not only in the NBA, but in ALL of major professional sports..

  • ginoongkamote: You write that "both teams would continue to play each other in the post season, but the rivalry didn't have the same passion as it once did". Does this refer to the 1960's? Because in the 80's (esp. 1981, 1982), some of those playoff games between the Dr J 76ers and the Larry Bird Celtics were incredibly intense.

  • Wow can u imagine watchin that game live Wilt chamberlain and BILL RUSSEL crazy man thatd be epic.
