Well the VHT name was bought out by a larger company. All new VHT's are very different. They are mass produced overseas and are more vintage flavored.

Fryette are the real VHT's now. The guy that started VHT left after they were sold and started Fryette.

From what I can tell, none of that is correct. The VHT name was sold to a Chinese company named "AXL" who is now making handmade amps here in the US with the name "VHT." Steve Fryette founded VHT and when he "sold" the name to AXL, he retained the rights to make all of the same old VHT designs he's known for (Ultra-Lead, Sig:X, etc...), but under the "Fryette" name.

Steve Fryette sold the company, who is now using the name VHT, but not making any of the "real" VHT amps. If the new VHT's are going to be made in the US, they will not be in the same factory or using the same builders. All the designs that people know VHT for are going to be labeled Fryette.
