Every section has behavior like one separate group of voices with inner polyphonic ( here I do not mean fugal voicing and so on) with the target to contrast to other groups of instruments.

If you think about 4 voices "choral" polyphony

for a choir, you are right. In this case, (organ) we have 5 voices polyphony. Of course, you can write for 4 or even 6 voices. That is the limit ,because our music wil lose the transparency. Somebody will comment: "What is with simphonic or big band orchestra? These formations have so many instruments...!"

Yes, but they are all grouped in sections.
