the 1928 thompson had the charging handle on the top and there was no curve where the top of the stock meets the metal part of the gun. the m1 and m1a1 thompsons didn't accept drum magazines and had the triangle shaped sights.
First gun I ever bot for 200 bucks that shot through a can l....465FPS about 8 pounds and full metal including the gears....got it at Dunham sports in Duluth...and the bolt is there for more than just looks it is to grease it to I think
Help would be greatly appreciated on this. I saw this gun on Amazon. It says it's from Cybergun, but I'm not positive. Could you check out the link and give me some feedback? Thanks.

epic fail, even a baby embrio knows that this is a tommy gun(the name wasnt changed till the 1930's when the thompson came out)and at 0:27 were you fingering it?
@1stholybrez On the cover of the box, it states that it is a 1928 typewriter. Were just stating what it says on the box, so there will be no confusion when they look for this particular airsoft gun. As for 0:27 of the video, he was adjusting the hop up
@taairsoftvideos it is a typewriter, and it is a tommy gun too, they called it a typewriter because they could "write" with the bullet holes made by it....it was called a tommy gun obviously because the official name of the gun was the Thompson.
@1stholybrez the thompson was made in 1917 you idiot John T. Thompson is the creator of this beatiful wepon, the army would rather stick to boltaction rifles instead of useing the thompson, so do dont speak inless you have info fool
@1stholybrez LOL Moron... It was a Thompson you bloody idiot... The man who designed it was named "Thompson"... The NICKNAME was Tommy Gun... Jesus Christ. I hate ignorant "knowitalls" like you...
@1stholybrez thompson was invented in 1918 and was called very different names, including chicago typewriter, chicago typewriter was not an official name.
@1stholybrez The Chicago Typewriter was a nickname for the Thompson because of its high rate of fire, and low recoil. Supposedly you could write your name on a wall. As for the "Tommy Gun", that was just a nickname given to the Thompson by gangsters. It was never officially called the "Tommy Gun". Please, brush up on your facts, before you play know-it-all.
Is it gas or electric? I'm new to the airsoft scene so I don't know for sure. My friends also tell me that CyberGuns don't hold that long until they break. Is this true?
@GRILLZnPILLZ well i reccomend either .20, .23, or .25 gram bbs cuz .12s make ur gun terribly inaccurate and most have seams and can ruin ur guns internals and culd break and jam it, just keep in mind the heavier the bb the more accuracy but the less velocity
I would have strongly considered buying this if it had the bolt on top of the reciever, like the real 1928. The 1928 used the Blish action while the M1A1 had an open bolt design, which was much simpler and more reliable. Also the real M1A1 didn't accept drum mags
@LacrosseRifleShooter All full-auto Thompsons are open bolt. "Open bolt" means the bolt is held open until the trigger is pulled, whereupon it flies forward to fire the round.
The Blish lock was just there to hold the bolt closed temporarily after the round fired. It was found that guns fitted with the Blish will still function if it's removed, so they deleted it from the design when they made the M1.
Is there any difference between this and the regular thompson? I have the cybergun thompson and its amazing, is this gun the same just different look?
@rufedude01 I'm assuming your talking about the M1A1 version compared to the one in the video. The only difference is the outer barrel and the foregrip. Both can use the stick and the drum magazine. The internals are both the same and the performance are identical. In essence, they are the exact same gun, just different look.
@guythatmadethisvideo On bare skin, It will leave a red welt and will bleed if shot multiple times in the same area at 30ft away. This will vary depending how thick your clothing is.
@rufedude01 the difference is that the regular one has the barrel cover, and no pistol grip in the front. and the other one has a 50 round drum and a pistol grip up front
@rufedude01 assuming ur talking about the M1A1 Military Variant Thompson the only difference between the two is the outer barrel and the frontal foregrip, as far as i know i believe the internals are exactly the same, including the gearbox and in case your wondering, yes they both use the same style magazines

@warmachine866 Since these are used, there's not much we can do for the exterior part of the gun, but there usually not as bad as you are describing. Some look new, others will have wear and tear, but they all work the same. As for the battery, give us your order # and we will send you a new one. Also, you have to hold the mag release up as your putting in the magazine, otherwise it will not go in smoothly like in the video and will be really difficult.
@taairsoftvideos nevermind its just i did not think of all those things im sorry but still the battery was dead when i bought it and when i charged i it started smoking we got a new one one question do you test your guns?
@warmachine866 Well if you spent money on a new battery, give us your order # so we can refund the price you paid for it. The gun is suppose to come with everything to make it work. If the battery came broken, than thats our fault and I don't want you to pay for our mistake. TgUt4liFe 1 year ago
@TgUt4liFe
I'd like to see proof of that. I don't doubt they could have done exactly what the airsoft manufacturers have done - add a rail up the back.
I just doubt there was a demand - most military forces stopped using the drums mainly because they were heavy, and rattled.
