  • Make an impressive one Zoidle

  • See that video "brat girl heather beats a bitch boy:)" ?

    Don't watch it.

  • If only this version had Peter Boyle screaming like a stereotypical deaf guy "PUTTIN' ON THE RIIIIITZ!"

  • Gene Wilder's version will always hold a special place in my heart, but this version is exelent. Shiny Toy Guns has yet to make a bad remix in my opinion.

  • This is my favorite version of the song. Love Shiny Toy Guns, and I love this song.

  • Its a good cover.. but in not impressed... :/

  • Young Frankenstein song with the genius Gene Wilder

  • great cover :D

  • I have to say this song has always creeped me out, but I think thats just the newer spins on it. Maybe the 1929 one wasn't scary.

  • taco delivered the lines with a bit of anachronism..that was great juxtaposed against the out of time synths...made it creepy.. this isnt bad at all tho...

  • fred astaire did it best

  • This sounds like Taco, but a higher pitch (Which you can do easily in any audio manipulator) and with a beat.

  • @chanikittens3 Might be. Good thinkin.

  • in my opinion shiny toy guns sings this song the best, I dont really like the other guys, shiny toy guns!

    ..puttin on the ritz..

  • This version sounds exactly like the Taco version, just without the great video. I wouldn't even call it a cover, just a copy.

  • @QuantumMechaniq I really don't hear how they're similar. I think you may need to listen to taco's version again.

  • @QuantumMechaniq well, i think this version is funny. i like it.

  • Oh gosh I love this song no matter who sings it D: but I love this version alot too xD

  • bret autrey did a better cover :p

  • i sing this song when i get dressed every morning :D

  • While I appreciate the effort, this is not a cover.

  • its not original true but a good remix.

  • Haha this song was in Young Frankenstein! XD

  • I like this virsion more <3

  • Hm... I think my favourite cover's Judy Garland's.

  • I know it's a cover, you have to pay to record/release a cover. The question is whether they need to just pay royalties to the copyright owner of the original Irving Berlin chart or also to Taco as this song so much resembles his version of the tune. I would assume just the original. The previous comment was somewhat in jest of the lack of originality in this version when compared to Taco's

  • wht do u mean by cover

  • @iknowthepizzaman cover means the band sang a song they didnt write lol

  • i keep waiting for them to stand up

  • the Frank Astaire version is much better.

  • @GilbertoFerLuis

    Fred Astaire you mean. ;3

  • Do these guys have to pay royalties to Irving Berlin, Taco or both?

  • @kingcareco no, its a cover.

  • i like this; its got that whole creepy ramalamabangbang vibe..

  • This song always makes me think of the Young Frankenstein lol... Gene Wilder and the Monster doing a tap dance = awesome

  • May have to check out this group

  • I like Taco better because he didn't put this techno shxt in the background...

I expected the leadsinger of STG to actually sing :/

  • love the song

    love the group

  • i love this version to death

  • @MegJ326 Then kill yourself. This version sucks big fat horse cock. Original all the way!

  • @dxjohncenacaz damn dude, calm down

  • It's ok i ges i like taco a lot more then the's guy's.

  • Lol good but i prefer the original

  • The first 22 seconds remind me of a mix (in order) b/t I Can See Clearly Now, a Geico commercial, Enjoy the Silence (Depeche Mode) and Tank! (Cowboy Bebop). Yes, Gene Wilder did the best version if this song

  • So.......no voice cover either?? Scared to?

  • Hey I know this song! I've heard the original before! It was on a CD my gramps made ^^

  • well i think this is a great song

  • Fashion sits. Puting on the Ritz.

  • Cute.. but I had high hopes for this track and it didn't really deliver. I always feel that a cover should expand on original material and bring something new. I think this brought something bland.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!

  • I still like the Gene Wilder version more.

  • @jhavins12 puttin on the riiiiiiiiiiiiiiitz :D

  • @jhavins12 Then watch the Gene Wilder version. :) To each their own.

  • @jhavins12 if only his cersion didnt have that obnoxious frankinstein in it

  • @JenniferCuppett that "obnoxious frankenstein" is peter fucking boyle who is a fucking legend

  • @002428 Peter Boyle. Is he related to Susan Boyle?

  • @002428 oh please, calm yourself. I'm not insulting Peter Boyle, i like his work. Im saying that i wish there was a version where He wasn't ruining the song, hes SUPPOSE to sing like this for the movie part. Do you understand or do i have dumb this down more? judging by ur language im going to have to make this 3rd grade reading level.

  • @JenniferCuppett Your grammar and spelling would suggest that you are, in fact, the one at a third grade reading level. If you're going to critique someone on this, at least be right while you do.

  • Digital Thumbs up!

  • NICE~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

  • "Puttin on the ritz" is a term from some 8--90 years ago that meant getting dressed up.

This is not an original song, heck, it wasn't even new when Taco covered it in the 80's.

This song actually dates from 1929, and what written by Irving Berlin.

  • @OxymoronicRomantic PUTTING ON THE RITS

  • @OxymoronicRomantic THANK YOU FOR KNOWING YOUR HISTORY!!!

  • @SilverSwan16

You are welcome. It kind of annoys me when people don't realize that there was pop music before they were born. XD

  • @OxymoronicRomantic 1921 I think

  • To similar to Taco's version in the 80s, haha. But still nice.

  • time to bring out the tap shoes and cane

  • You put *what* on the Ritz?

  • @dvdweng Maybe he means "puttin' on the Ritz" like it's a kind of cloathing? I don't know, but you make a good point!

  • why would you want ritz crackers

  • does anyone know if u can find this song on itunes?

  • @watchinganime01 go look on itunes.

  • @jebrugby2 no i already did, i thought maybe it was under a different name or something. Did you find it on itunes?

  • this is a different take on the song i like it kinda different but the original is better

  • Fred Astaire did it much better. You just can't improve upon a classic.

  • @shatros taco did it best

  • @BahigPimpin Taco isn't worthy to lick the ground Fred Astaire walked on. Fred Astaire's performance is the standard everyone else is compared to. Taco merely did a crude and poorly conceived imitation. But admitedly Taco is better than this monstrocity.

  • @shatros to each they're own i guess....but i respect what you said there...just wasnt a big fan of fred's version

  • @shatros

dude, chill. Just listen to the music.

  • @MewHikaru This is not music by any legitimate criteria.

  • @shatros

A lot of things now aren't music, but I'm sure the band itself isn't treating this seriously. It's just a fun cover to do.

  • @MewHikaru Obviously they are not treating this seriously. If they did it would not make my ears bleed. This is actually painful to hear. If something is worth doing it is worth doing well. This being not done well proves it should not have been done in the first place. Videos such as this should come with a warning so people know to turn the volume down before they click the link.

  • @shatros Honestly dude, you may think this song sucks terribly, but I saw a few videos and a lot of people keep suggesting this song in the comments.

There are a ton of songs on youtube that serve a background for videos and I never want to hear those songs again, but I just keep in mind that it may sound good to others. It may save you a few mean comment replies if you keep this in mind.

Of course, if the video is MEANT to display how bad a song is, comment away, dude!

  • @shatros Also, in addition to my reply, I want to say that the part where you said "If they did it would not make my ears bleed." and "This is actually painful to hear." was really funny, lol.

  • @shatros then don't listen to it, honestly. you don't have to bag on it.

  • This is so gross :) But they sing it good.

  • @Memoribledeath how is it gross?

  • good

  • Ritz sounds like wrists :p

  • Ca ressemble beaucoup à la version des Stray Cats, non ?

  • wow...this song as come a long way!lol i like the young franklinstan cover XD

  • my favorite song in the entire world........ +D

  • This cover is kind of a lack of originality. Sounds too much like Taco...

  • @TystheGuy It's a cover... there's only so much you can do.

  • @blahk1234454 Yes, but Taco's was a cover too....

  • @blahk1234454

Please refer to Damone's version of Wasted Years, or RATM's version of The Ghost of Tom Joad.

Still, this version is pretty damn awesome, much groovier than taco's to be honest.

  • G Fresh...

  • i say SUPER DUPER all the time now after hearing this song =P

amazing cover! one of my favorites!

cant wait till there new album (III) coming out this winter!!!! =O

  • Comment removed

  • this probs wudda been awsome if carah sang it but nope :/

  • does anyone know any tabs for this version or the taco version? i can't find one anywhere and i'm sick of just getting chords...

  • @tobiaspunk There is no tab because it was never performed on guitar, you'll only be able to get the chords. Only way you can get a guitar version is find someone who has done a guitar cover if it (I doubt there'll be many which aren't just chords) or compose a guitar part to it yourself :/ Happy hunting though! :)

  • @XalmostbrokenX - hehe there's such a thing as TABS for the piano/keyboards. The person who requested a TAB didn't specify the instrument. Just thought it was a little funny cuz what if they do want a piano TAB?

  • Eating Ritz crackers while listening to this song... I win. :)

  • rape

  • good

  • niiiiice............

  • SUPER DUPER !!!

  • makes me wana do crack and get soem girls haha

  • I applaud them for doing this cover quite well. But you can't beat the classic.

  • puttin' the cheese on the ritz crackers hahaha... love this song its kind of dark and scary listen to it a night with the lights off awesome!!!

  • the only thing i dont like about this song is that its too short lol

  • this is my all time FAVORITE song. no matter the version: they are all good!!!!!!!! =D

  • Dude, STG's covers are always awesome!

  • awww hell Yeah!!! I dont know many other band has done covers better.... Led Zepplin I think has that title but man this group cant miss!!!

  • Is there anywhere I could get this song? I like it =D

  • This song makes me want to have a gold and black pinstriped fedora and matching pantsuit, so I can walk around with it and look cool.

  • @Katriania ill walk behind you and sing this song...your own personal theme

  • Yeah, I like the version by Taco. -Dude's voice is even better, tho I like the bass hum in this one. U should see Fred Astaire tap dance with top hat n cane to this.

  • ...The Super Duper is epic.

  • LOVE THIS SONG <3

  • I always loved :09 till :23 <3

  • I lost my virginity to this cover.

  • @kaylaaisamazing i lost mine to my couch

  • @kaylaaisamazing Lol that's a little disturbing.

  • @kaylaaisamazing

More like cummin' on her tits, amirite?

  • @TKing2724 lolwut, yes.

  • taco's version is a cover 2 he talks about it on vh1s 1hit wonders of the 80s

  • A good cover is one that sounds very unlike the original. This song takes the theme and spins it in a completely different way, like putting on a colored set of glasses. It's darker and more modern than the original, and I suppose it depends on your mood which one you prefer listening to at the moment. It's nice to see that the same melody can emit an alternate tone when supplied with a different background. I think Shiny Toy Guns did a very good job with this. :)

  • its a nice spin on that song done with some shiny toy guns type class... i like it

  • kinda gives fred astaires masterpiece a new soul..

nono it gives a new body to the soul of fred astaires masterpiece..

i think this is what i want to say ... AND... smoke weed =)

  • Ha, this is pretty cool! I like it!

  • it sounds like he's trying to sound taco

  • tacos make you fat. STG <3

  • Shut up about Taco and listen to the song.

  • ha ha ha this made my day

  • Eh, they're trying to imitate the Taco version...at least change it up a little to make it your own you know? lol...well I still like it.

  • i like the song... shiny toy guns are good. SUPER DUPER.

  • Meh, it sounds like they just slowed down Tacos cover.

  • i love how people always argue on these things lmao.

  • umm...

    1. thats not true (ex. Two kids in band class, 1 kid plays the drums well, the other doesnt, if they play the same song the kid who can play well will sound better than the other)

    2. Great song!!!

  • i like this version, its creepy

  • this is great.... ^___^

  • i want some ritz crackers now...

  • @FaKedandan same

  • @miniblitz16 right dude. i had some already like 3months ago

  • @HaiCourtney add me on facebook

  • @FaKedandan oh totally

  • AWESOME *______*

Such a fun re-invention of the song

  • Comment removed

  • @FaKedandan He was an American actor. One of his better films, in my opinion, is Sergeant York.

  • i aggre with clojio!

  • I like this version. Taco is okay too, but for some reason his is kinda creepy to me. lol.

  • @EmperorBarbarosa cuz hes wierd look at him man my gf thought he was white hhaah

  • IS THAT CHAD SINGING?

  • this doesnt sound like them but it is good

  • i love how they reinvent the son git's so amazing! true art!

  • I have no clue as to why people are comparing this to Fred Astaire...two totally different time eras... personally the lyrics are one of my all time favorites, and I think that Shiny Toy Guns has done an awesome job covering it with there own damn style... I'll put it up there with Judy Garland, who I personally think did 'Puttin' on the Ritz' better then Fred Astaire.

  • SUPER DUPER

  • would have been a better song if it was about beating up those rockefellers and well to dos.

  • <
