I saw this video. I know people that are extremely opposed to interracial dating. I grew up in a diverse crowd being an Army dependent, so I'm all good with it. It seems normal to me. It's interesting to see people that believe that its wrong though
I'm the daughter of an interracial couple and now i have a bf whose Puerto Rican and i'm mixed with black and white. We've been talking about how it is with our races and he called me and oreo, but not in an offensive way-- he likes me for me and not for the color of my skin.
Oh my God. I watched this and I started crying, cuz I had a flashback. Avout 6 years ago, I dated a sweet guy who was Italian/Puerto Rican. We had an experience just like the bw/wm couple, but it almost landed my ex bf in jail. Two White guys were harrassing us and talking shit in a restaurant, but some of the patrons came to our defense and told them to shut up, etc. it was ok, till one of the guys made the mistake of calling me a "moolie".----all hell broke loose!! I never saw my (con't)
@hotdrumchick friend move that fast before, lol!! He got a damn good punch in before two guys at the next table grabbed him and pulled him off, saying "That cockroach ain't worth going to jail for---even though he deserves it, let him go!!" So more words passed, but the two assholes got their stuff and left. The eye of the one my friend punched had swelled up like a baseball, haha!! We became friends with half the restaurant after that!!
I was realy enjoying this vid up until the last minute when they said 'color blind society". Why do we want that? We shouldn't ignore/tolerate each other's race but instead we should learn to LOVE/embrace each other's race. "Tolerance" is like indifference, we should LOVE each other, not tolerate each other.
@TonyN737 I agree with you fully, but we all can't fully love/embrace each other's race without the majority of people cooperating specially since some people are easily persuaded by others when it comes to negativity :(

That wouldn't have worked for me. Ive had people say some racist stuff to me in LA a couple times when we went to visit my wifes family and it didn't go well. I am not sure why but we get about 10 times more racism from black men than white people combined.
