i know hinge in real life and no im not lying its true! he lives in France now in the same town as me and my parents are good friends with them, and they come visit sometimes lol ITS AWESOMe!!!
i have sent a message to my google group to ask the fans as i haven't watched the Gala Evenings DVD for a while so i cannot remember. I am sure it will be on there.
I can't even remember if it is on any of My Specials DVDs, but i will reply as soon as i hear from the fans
I genuinely didn't realise they were men for years - which may sound like I'm stupid but I grew up in a small town with women just like this! I loved this show - just ordered the DVD's - can't wait.
"When is a biscuit tin like a fountain? When it's a square tin." I don't get it. Can someone explain?? The rest is hilarious, especially when the arms of the venus statuette are lopped off - BRILLIANT!!!!
I stumbled across the "Dear Ladies" the other day and have absolutely fallen in love with this show! Would love to see all of the episodes, but the dvd's aren't available in the USA (wouldn't play on our dvd players). I've ordered a cd of them and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. Thank you so much for posting so I can enjoy them!
I had no success in persuading my elderly step-grandma that these dear ladies were in fact dear chaps. Refused to countenance the suggestion and found it offensive! This was in the 1970s. Much later I saw H&B perform in panto at Stafford and they were sublime. Thanks for the upload.
I used to love this programme. Dr Evadne Hinge and Dame Hilda Bracket. Gentle yet subversive. Very English. Why hasn't this found its way back on one of the digital channels?
I just recently discovered Hinge and Bracket thanks to BBC Radio 7 Listen Again. Quite fun. Thanks very much for showing these on YouTube. Please show some more!
Did this show ever make it to the US on TV? I don't recall ever seeing it. Too bad, I'll bet it would have been a big hit.

I was given a great big pile of records today and concealed in the stack was...a signed copy of 'Dear Ladies'! It looks virtually unplayed, too.

Can anyone tell me if The Cat Duet (Duetto Buffo Di Due Gatti) is on any of the DVDs? I have the CD, but would love to see the performance again.

Fantastic stuff - the live show I was lucky to see was hilarious. So sad the dear Dame is no longer with us. Can't wait for the DVD to be out.
