@mozartsviolinist are you kidding me? 95% of the time axis win at my house.. well that because im always axis ive never lost a game... and ive played with numerous ppl i actually want to loose...
This was a great video. The camera crane footage was excellent, the lighting was exceptional, and the music score was timed perfectly. By the end of it I thought I was actually back in WWII. All around I would give this video an 8 out of 10.
Great game I got the 1942 edition it a little cramped but awesome wish it had some more factions but still awesome I was thinking about getting anniversary edition but the I saw the price 500 dollars but it is just a game
i love the game its awesome i wish i had sum ppl 2 play it with tho i playd with 3 once but 5 would b insane in the membrane lol i wana get the comp game doesnt any1 kno if it plays on macs??? plz answer back PLZ
I used to play entire days and nights for one match, this is like one of the most complicated and intellegence demanding Board games ever, arguably the founder of RTS.
P.S.: ofcourse like all board games, this game still requires some luck (you use dice).
Best board game. Also play it on PC. (Triple A) Destroying the american transport at the northern west coast with german sub at the begining is the basic first move. :D Only thing I dislike, is that Russia can be defeated at thrid round, (By Germany) if they don't attack Germany at the first round. :/
Yes the Allies have more money but the Axis have more men on the ground. Thats why they must act fast to defeat the Allies. Russia has a weak economy and less troops thus both Germany and Japan must engage them with everything they got.
i think the axis have a balanced play, all you gotta do is put pressure on russia with japan along with germany, then just focus on border defences and navy, works every time for me
yeah i want that 3rd edition version but i cant find it and i dont want to throw away my 2nd edition game xD the board you described can be downlaoded as a free internet game called Triplea or something and its ace :)
I don't have a feeble mind, it's just that it's unfair for the Axis players. The U.S. makes tons of money per turn that the Axis is fucked by the end of the game. With Risk, there are no advntages, just take over more land.
good point. I think it states in the hand book though that the game is a little biased towards the Allies to try and reflect some historical accuracy. I have the New Axis and Allies - Dday and all I can say is good luck if your Germany.
Playing Axis powers is def working with a disadvantage and couple that with bad luck (dice rolling) and its going to be a short game. we modfied some rules with troop transports and it greatly helps the axis powers.
i had axis and allies when i was lil...(this version) but i was to lil to understand and used all the peices as regular army guys and now i just got it for x-mas and im excited to learn how to play because i love ww2 and tactical games
My good man, if you have a true love of the game which hold the title of Axis & Allies, you will create a video of the new Anniversary edition of the game.
Hey do any of you guys have the PC version? You can create maps and stuff on it. It's absolutely wonderful. Oh and the best part: you don't have to set the darn board up lol!
man i love this game... i'm always the axis because i love playing as them. i like it how its more strategic than risk. although i've played risk and i think its very fun as well. also i like how its harder for the axis to win, because its more of a challenge. but overall this was a good video, and this is a great game.
Honestly, that was incredibly well done. Superimposing real battles over the board, the dice rolling, stop-motion to add in more soldiers and destroyers, just genius.
i have almost every version of a&a...including the original world, europe, pacific, d-day, and guadalcanal...oh..and i OWN haha...im interested in taking on new challengers, im getting tired of beating my buddy all the time haha
Ok i have a question when you are looking at the reference card to the left of where it says infantry, artillery, etc. it has a bunch of different locations listed fore example on Germany it has North Atlantic, western Europe, and Norway. then it has numbers in columns below each location what do those numbers mean?
lol dont u have the manual...u cant even begin the game if u dont know what those numbers are
the info on the there is how much of units u start with and where u place those units...i dont have the game rite now so im gonna do an example....so for example lets say ur german, ok u look at the territroy and lets says its france...in the column under france there should be numbers corresponding with the units so if says 3 and its in the row that says infantry then it means 3 infantry in france
You can download a free game called Triple A and play this exact thing on your PC single player or online by logging onto the server. It's got several different maps, classic, revised, as well as 'big world' where everything is pretty much the same except instead of there being one territory, perhaps there's 3, it's much more realistic. You won't take French Indochina in one turn, it might take forever because it's awesome like 5 territories...try out Triple A for sure...google it.
the music at the beginning and the music at the end are from the pc-game rise&fall by rednote, but i don't know the original names. the main-music is Bootstrap's Bootstraps from pirates of the caribbean 1
I'm thinking about getting this game: the reviews look promising, but for someone who wants to get the extra boost of strategy they can't find in Risk, is this a good choice? Also, is there a real difference with the "revised" version? Is it better?
I have the old and revised editions of A&A. I personally find the revised edition a lot more Axis friendly, The new units add more strategy to game, Some of the optional rules like National Advantages gives the game a more authentic feel. obtaining technologies is slightly easier, and the biggest difference is that every nation has different looking units except for some allies' navy and vehicles
I love this board game. I actually like the old one more than the new one. The old one was slightly axis favored but in the new one it is nearly impossible to win with allies. America is also almost worthless in the new one because it is about 2 turns away from making any major amphibious on germany.
Both games favor the axis for beginners. But once you start to develop strategies, it becomes much easier for the allies to win. For me, the first game is almost an assured allied victory, and the second game is slightly more equal with the allies still better. The best strategy is making only infantry with Russia and just staying defensive while the US and UK build up huge invasion armies. The Japanese can usually take a significant amount of Asia, but they can't win once Germany falls.
Even if Japan gets Moscow, the Allies get better income from holding Germany and as long as the Americans keep up their navy and both the US and Britain keep up liberation attempts on Moscow they can eventually push out the Japanese.
well, america can get more resources just from europe and africa, i did that with my friend once, let him have russia after i defeated germany, he marched into moscow, and i spring a 200 division trap on 50 divisions of his in and around moscow, next turn he was running for his life back to manchuria and china, battle cost over 300 divisions from the time of the ambush in moscow to the end of the battle in siberia and china, i think the #s were 75 us losses, 50 UK, and the rest japan
yeah the video game is cool =) i love the D-Day landings on Hard mode ^^ so cool and crowded, although i prefer the Axis Campaign the Allied ones prettys weet

I'd recommend "New Original" version. The European one can drag on forever attacking with infantry and artillery. The one I have from like '84 is too simple but still fun. The newer version has a better map that's broken down into more countries, thus improving strategy. I have yet to play the Pacific version...

nice! i have the old A&A board with just the basic plastic infantry, armor, f- and b- planes, subs, carrier, b-ships. this new one looks a lot more realistic!
Good video! and Really fun game! Europe is the best, but the world is fun as well cuz you get the the allies from around the world (like South Africa and Australia)!
I couldn't wipe the stupid grin from my face for the duration of this video. My buddies and I have AAA (Axix & Allies & Alcohol) meetings every chance we get. I love this game and this video.
Great Video! We play the same Game here in Germany every second Saturday on a 150x90cm Map. I mean your map is to small for real Gamefun. But nice Movie...
acutally i have that edition its the newer 1 and u don't have to buy it only on s website its at most stores likw target or walmart but the best place to buy it is at hobbytown usa i bought it there for 50$
great video, great game (got it myself). you should try A&A Europe and pacific. Europe is better than Pacific but pacific can be played by only 2 players and still be very fun. Can you also plz tell me the name of the soundtrack, i kinda like it, sounds like something from pirates of ....
yeah i have A&A pacifik and D-Day (a short funny game for 2-3). I also tried to buy Europe but this isn´t possible in austria. the first and third music is from the computer game rise and fall and the second is from pirates of c. and called "bootstrap´s bootstraps"

Good video! and Really fun game!

I love this game and this video.

great video, great game (got it myself). you should try A&A Europe and pacific.
