While I like the dark tone of the second one, I can see all the bad things about it too. I personally like Goldblum though so that may be a factor. While I see the things that bother Doug to be a big factor, the rest of the film is actually fairly good. It deserves at least a bit more credit then given here. That's just my thoughts though.
Also, the scene with the baby rex was taken from the Michael Crichton's second book, the lost world.
The trailer was well outside the rex teritory and by bringing the baby to the trailer they reshaped the teritory and hence the trailer was within their space, that's why they trashed it! They did not know that the adults will react like this and that their senses were so evolved.

I found the environmental theme of this movie to be its biggest flaw. It was way too preachy and as NC points out, there were so many plot holes it was almost embarrasing. About the amount of deaths, Malcolm had plenty of time to be filled in on the people who died on Isla Nublar. He can't still think the ones he saw dying were the only victims.

While I like the dark tone of the second one, I can see all the bad things about it too. I personally like Goldblum though so that may be a factor. While I see the things that bother Doug to be a big factor, the rest of the film is actually fairly good. It deserves at least a bit more credit then given here. That's just my thoughts though.

Also, the scene with the baby rex was taken from the Michael Crichton's second book, the lost world.
The trailer was well outside the rex teritory and by bringing the baby to the trailer they reshaped the teritory and hence the trailer was within their space, that's why they trashed it! They did not know that the adults will react like this and that their senses were so evolved.

This is fiction so I shouldn't nitpick, but could you actually CARRY a baby T-rex? I'm not talking about weight; I'm talking about the fact that the thing should have bitten their faces off. Ever tried picking up a baby crocodile? They'd take your finger off if they could, no matter how young. I doubt a baby rex would be so docile. Again, I shouldn't nag, but this movie threw so many WTF moments at me it really tried my patience. If you're going to defy logic, don't make it so obvious.

I found the environmental theme of this movie to be its biggest flaw. It was way too preachy and as NC points out, there were so many plot holes it was almost embarrasing. About the amount of deaths, Malcolm had plenty of time to be filled in on the people who died on Isla Nublar. He can't still think the ones he saw dying were the only victims.
