anyone, in the case that it was a rip off, lifeline is 1290481290834190248 times better than keane`s song so i dont give a fuck if they did rip off or not, thats all, papa roach forever!
@OceanOfDispear there isn't a problem with it, but if it gets out of hand and sounds way too familiar, then you know you're gonna here about some plagiarism.
though i must admit there's no big deal about these two songs in my oppinion
damn every says they rip off sll their song...fuck them P-roach is awesome and the best live band no doubt...and fuck every chord progression has been used b4, plus he just mixed the tempo a lil bit to make it fit better
tons of riffs tons of notes i just learned this song ong guitar...its extremyl simple they probly just played then maybe relized it sounded the same....ive done that before when wrting music but its not big enough where its ripping a riff
am i the only person who thinks that if this guy made this an actual song remix it would sound pretty bomb ass? dude Make this a Lifeline Everybodys changing remix it would be bad ass
I can't believe it! However I am a little bit proud of myself for making the connection all by myself! I heard Lifeline in the mall and I was like, "Ugh, this guy sounds like nickleback, wait... This sounds fimiliar!" My friend and I both like Keane, and after about 5 minutes I finally figured it out! Everbody's Changing and LifeLine! But I am glad some people made the connection, I wonder was happens when this reaches keane...
dude r u kidding... so what the tone is similar? just listen to the one you like most and stop nagging about plagiarism ;) both are good songs in their own genre, end of the line.
Dude... could you like.. impose Keane's piano over this whole Lifeline song and put up an Mp3? I really dig the way that sounds together at the end there.
I've heard both songs and to be honest... they're both pretty awesome to me. I can listen to both Keane and Papa Roach any day and listen to Lifeline and then Everybody's Changing right after it. Both bands are great, and depending on what mood I'm in, I can totally appreciate both styles of music. Whether Papa Roach ripped it or not, or without acknowledging Keane's influence, I think it's safe to say that the melody seems to suit well for both songs.
u fucking spaz lol! me and my friend are on the phone lafing at u! just becoause everybodies changing came out in 2005 dosent meen it cant be ripped off! lol. its not some magical year. and now ive dropped my gun! so just to finesh off like ur commen. You are an idiot. ;D
No you are still the idiot, and my friends and I are laughing at you. Not to mention, who would be friends with you anyway? Keane influenced Papa Roach that's why PAPAROACH ripped off KEANE because of the difference of years... I thought this was incredibly simple, but not for you apparently...
Yeah the minute I heard Papa Roach song I knew it was a rip.. but I love Papa Roach.. & they sound very def. when u look at the meaning of the songs. but yeah..
I noticed that similarity rigjht away when I heard papa roach song when it came out...Actually everybody that loves Keane noticed....Was Papa roach doing that intentionally like vanilla ice?
I tend not to blame artists in cases like this. As a songwriter, I've accidentally duplicated a riff and chord progression only to realize later that I had in fact just drawn it out of distant memory. So while I think this is going to be a lawsuit, I only wish someone had caught this before it was released.
haha. I heard LifeLine on the radio today and I was thinking "Is Papa Roach covering a Keane song?" The only thing I didn't think sounded right was the lyrics. Definitely a rip. I'm sure everyone in the music biz has heard "everybody's changing" by now and Roach owes some royalties.
the mashup sounds epic

Not a surprise... A ton of their songs have stolen riffs
Take infest for example...
Full of Iron Maiden riffs...
maggottilthegrave666 1 year ago 3
s'funny how you have to change pitches and tempo's to make it all fit...
theknightofcydonia98 1 year ago
Yeah. But Papa Roach are still better.

I'm so glad someone else noticed this! I love Lifeline though, and since I can play Everybody's Changing on guitar, now I can play Lifeline too! :)

They also copied riffs from iron maiden

AS much as I'd say that copying music is stupid, I wouldn't get angry about it or anything. People do it. Just like with the "Ice Ice Baby" song. (:3

Personally Lifeline is not P. Roachs best song. But it is still better than Everybody's changing.

Keane's song is in a lower octave than u put it as
so it didnt really copy it
MTread545 2 years ago
if you just take a song and transpose it to a lower or upper octave and change the lirycs, that is plagio. its a shame that papa roach do this.
ABlake77 2 years ago
uhh.... octave has litteraly NOTHING to do with plagiarism. I mean are you joking??
If i played "twinkle twinkle little star" on a guitar but in a very low key, are you saying I could publish as my own original tune?

theres a difference bettween stealing a song and coming up with the same progression of notes. it happens all the time and is rarely intentional.
