  • @HannibalBarca13 G'day... Yeah, Heat-Engines are a bit like that. The Subaru EA-81 is around 25% Fuel- Efficient, the V-12 Double- Overhead-Camshaft Rolls Royce Merlin, with 2-Speed Intercooled Supercharger was 29.7%... in 1943. The Computerised Fuel-Injected Turbocharged Intercooled 4-Valve/Cylinder F-1 Racing Motors might be 32%, and some people say they can build Diesels that are 35% Fuel-Efficient. A 2-Stroke is 20% Efficient. Steam is 5% to 15% !

  • @KennyReddwoodforest G'day... Well, yeah. But, at least I don't smoke a Vasoconstrictor, when I smoke. I prefer a Vasodilator, in my pipe... I never claim to be "pure". But, most people whose backstory is worse than mine are Opiate-Addicts, or they're dead. I'm alive, & my kids have grown up not to be Fuckwits...; so I may not be altogether wrong. I hope. And, it doesn't matter what I put in my Pipe. It's results that count ?

    Ciao !

  • True. But smoking is unpure, too.

  • @Pulchism G'day... Okay, well, it isn't "small savings", it's 35% of the pre-mod Fuelburn. But that's a function of use-rates. I dont replace the Alternator. It stays there, to become the backup. Search 'SunFoil Short-Talk' for the CSIRO Evaluation & 'SunFoil Science' for raw data. Try'S.Mk 3 Construction' for In-Vivo Aerodynamic tests. Um, 'Solar Thermal Ramjet' is good, too..! Then, try 'Aerotowing Rogallos'. I'm a Low-Speed Aerodynamics Consultant. Y'see !

  • I agree with your views on antinatalism.

I don't think the small fuel savings you achieve by replacing your alternator with an elaborate PV/aerodynamic modifier are grounds to look down on "yuppies".

How do you know your foil set up really makes any difference at all? Have you taken the car to a wind tunnel to conduct some kind of CFD analysis? How do you know that a good tune up or an upgrade (fuel injection with mapping, turbo, high flow filters) wouldn't make a much bigger difference?

  • @inmendham Thanks Gary... I just searched that. It goes nowhere. Just(ifiably) post it on Yt, please ? That's the only Website my phone goes to. Seriously. My daughter won't enable the rest of the Web connections. Says it'll take over my life. Lookit what Yt did..!

    Ciao.

  • Warbles, you should try the site one more time. Sometimes it doesn't load or times out the first time..I doubt he'll be reuploading it to youtube, it's about an hour. I enjoyed his response and your original video btw.

  • @TheDarkeJ Cool, glad to share the view on that one ( I must admit, it's a field of study I may have invented a name for)... But lots of people are familiar with the idea... tomken8dy told me of The Rapist /Therapist, which blew me away ! And there are heaps of Cliches against Brady Bunches., "Lonely/Useless/Miserable/Cranky/Hopless/Expensive/Worthless., as a Bastard/Son-Of-A-Bitch..!" as well as "Wicked Evil Step- Mother/Father". Bad parentin'

  • LOL, I didn't know crypto symantics was what that was called! I like that!, Do you ever wonder WHY these cliche'd expressions are all over? Shoot, I can't think of even one, ummmm, errr, heck, will post some on my channel later, anyway, my point was they are introduced to society to propagate some evil, or minimize it, like 9 to 90 (ages for sex<) which promotes pediphiles, etc....there are a bunch, which is why I hate 'em.

  • @shangrigreige G'morning... Thanks mate, I'm glad y' enjoyed it. I like the synchronicity of Gary & Me both losing Power, him to a Snowstorm & me to Hubris, & Shortcut Undersized Diodes... Then, there he was, wearing a Headtorch, a week later ; waiting for the System he despises to restore his Coal-Juice for him... Whereas I had to repair my own mess. I thought the juxtaposition may assist communication, better than a Flame-War... Ciao !

  • @joshfuller21 G'day... Thanks, I'm glad y' enjoyed it. Um, I really am an Uncomputered Luddite, mate. My Daughter put this Channel on my Mobile, because my 1st SunFoil Clip had 640 Views, on her Channel, & she was sick of being Daddys Yt Interface. But, I don't know how to go anywhere but Yt. And, at 118 Phone-movies up in half a year, I'm a Yt-Whore & it's overtaken my life, 8 hrs+ per day. One site's enough, I'm afraid !

  • @magna59 Hi Bob, yeah, that's the Spare Parts Pile for Matthew's Brumby...

Apparently one isn't a propper Whìte-Trash Hillbilly until there's at least 1 unregistered vehicle in the yard, that has to be mowed around ( mobility issues). Matt's Spare Brumby is apparently my Entrance- Qualification to the "Club". If I had a Caravan, then I could be "Trailer-Trash" ; but apparently, as yet, there's no Category for Lawn-Locker Living..!

  • Just .....one of your better mother load point pushing vids. Found a hotel last week were the room fridge was in a cupboard with no circulation holes. Left the guy at the desk with a note....he said he'd tried. Is that your son's white Sub or is that a spare for bits ?

  • G'day

    Once a again., props.

    x

  • @itsoverthemane Thanks, how's the view from Brooklyn, is the Snow damping the Occupy-ists ?

    Ciao..!

    Warbleswuvezyez...

  • Cheers!

  • @htomerif G'day... Ah, yes, humidity is a hassle. I've Bin-Threatenin' to put a Coolgardie in the Gap between the South Wall and a Water-Tank, so it's Sun-Shaded & stuck in an East-West (Prevailing Wind) Venturi/Thrustrum- Aírspeed-Accelerator...! In India, they made thìn biscuits of Ice, in big shallow dishes, outside at night in Winter. Burried them in Pits, sawdust- insulated, under Triple-Thatched & Air-Gapped Cones, under Trees, shaded... Thus, Iced Drinks in Summer !

  • @WarblesOnALot I've been around upstate newyork as well, somewhere near where Inmendham probably lives, and what they did there historically is chop up lots of lake ice in the winter and keep it in caves throughout the summer. As for a fridge, you might be able to modify an old propane powered ammonia cycle refrigerator to use solar as its heat source. You'd need a concentrator like a sheet fresnel lens. It would be interesting to try anyway.

  • Also, when you respond to my posts, it seems not to inform me, if thats a property of your mobile phone I can't say. Anyway, if I don't respond, thats most likely why.

  • Unfortunately in a lot of areas in the US the humidity is too high for evaporative cooling to work especially well. I've been to arizona where things like swamp coolers work great, and Ive been to louisiana swamp where a rag left outside ends up soaked in the morning and never dries unless its in the sun. The historic way to keep things cool in the north east is to dig a root cellar beneath wherever you live I guess.
