Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky are incredibly talented writers, however like it says I do worry there'll be a load of reference that will just be lame, and ruin it.

I guess Dan Akroyd and Harold Ramis don't feel they are now up to to doing a 3rd script worthy of the original otherwise they'd have done the 3rd one before, but I really hope they have some input into it.

The 2nd one is a solid film with some really good bits in, the 1st film is probably the GREATEST COMEDY ever made.

Here's a fun idea.. just imagine if Steve Martin and Chevy Chase were 2 guys that lost their jobs due to the reccession and got hired on with the original ghost busters!!! WOW!! Comedy Gold!!! Has anyone played the game? It was written by Ramis and Akroyd and was really well done, same dry wit, good techno babble and real. The American office is awful, I'm seeing a trend most Ghostbuster fans are in agreement there. You also forgot to mention Ivan Reitman must direct it and Ramis had said he felt the same way. Hopefully once the office guys do their treatment, the GOOD writers will look at it and throw it away or at least nit pick it until it's 90% them.

I recently watched an episode of The Extreme Ghostbusters Cartoon, where the original Ghostbusters came back for Egon's birthday and they all went back busting ghosts. The old Ghostbusters with the new crew made for a really good set of episodes. I believe they should write it like those episodes. Have the old guys train a team that look like the Extremem Ghostbusters crew from the old Cartoon. Just a thought. But I liked it

Yuppers. I wouldn't mind them passing the torch to new Ghostbusters as long as they DID IT RIGHT. No typical Hollywood bullshit. Get young actors who can do it right. No throwing hot chicks in just to be sex objects (Megan Fox, for instance), and no popular actors who can't do Ghostbusters. Personally, I think Shai LeBouf would make a good Ghostbuster, and there are others (Not Ben Stiller) who would pick up the roles quite well. Do this right, Hollywood, or we'll have your balls.

First of all guys there is no way they will not use cgi. Think about it. They will make the best movie possible with what is available today. It is not gonna end up like Star Wars episode 3. Everything is not going to look like a video game. Second, Aykroyd and Ramis had a large role in the video game story. THEY APPROVED EVERYTHING!! Also wrote ALL DIALOGUE! I forgot who else there are going to be either 2 or three new Trainers. GB3 will be here in 2010 and filming will began in 2009 for a 2010 release. 1) the real ghost busters are too old

2)it won't be as good as the first two

As long as Akroyd and Ramis review and approve of the script, I'm fine with the other writers. All the cast must return and like Murray hinted in a recent interview, it should be story heavy, not effects heavy.

I don't think that there is any need for a change of director. Ghostbusters II wasn't disappointing due to its direction. It was disappointing because of its script. Whoever writes it needs to come up with an idea for a story which is totally original and be able to write funny dialogue.
