  • all these softwares come with it?

  • Thank you

You have inspired me to buy this!

  • I getting it for my birthday, which is in 4 days :D

  • WHEN YOU PUSH A BU'ON, SOMETHIN AWESOME HAS TO HAPPEN

  • I got that for my birthday, which is today! :D

  • photoshop 2.0 XD

  • do you think a artest should get one

  • @zannadootothetenth

shouldn't an artist be able to spell "artist"?

and they are great for a-r-t-i-s-t-s

  • Does Photoshope come with the tablet?

  • i have a question, when you draw using the pen can your hand touch the tablet?

  • So the Bamboo's 'screen' is really more of a medium to interact with the computer (namely, for drawing and painting), right?

What I'm getting at is at first I thought that its screen lit up and you could draw on the tablet independently from the computer.

    Can it do that?

If not, are there other tablets of the same value/low price which can?

    Thanks.

  • WHERE DID U ORDER THIS ITEM AT

  • the dog is barking - so some of this mgiht not make sense....lol

i want to use the bamboo to trace over vintage drawings and digitize them without giving myself brainache with vectors and rosters and God knows what within Inkscape. Do you recommend it??

  • I don't really see the point in these tablets if you can't see the picture of the screen on the tablet. If it's just blank, then you're drawing blindly. Makes much more sense to just get a touchscreen monitor and draw directly on the monitor.

  • @empireofrain but thats a ton more expensive and most people cant do that

I'd much prefer a pc version, but the cheapest good one is used for 400 dollars and I dont have that

  • is it possible to you know put the pen down to see where you are on the screen without doing any scribbling?

  • @karthiksk you could make a dot then hit "undo"

  • @RawrMuffin99 Actually you dont, reading elsewhere i found out that you only need to hover over the pad and the pointer moves accordingly.

  • i love how you say bu'on XD

  • @BLANKMEMORYDATA

Haha you're not the first to say that. I don't know lol its how everyone says it where I'm from

  • @srvwannabe I need to move there :D

  • An American using the metric system <3

  • someone needs an upgrade....

  • should've turned down your screen contrast!

  • Comment removed

  • When you are drawing how can you tell where your at? I dont see no screen on the tablet?

  • how comes your screen is soo wide?? wider than usual lol

  • Does it matter if you're left handed? And does your monitor's resolution matter that much?

  • How much is the Bamboo?

    And which Bamboo is it?

I've checked on it's website, and there's like 6 different kinds.

  • lol it takes a little to get used to **but not a lot**

  • hey what is the model you are using? is is the bamboo pen & touch? is there 2 versions of that>?

  • Hey SRV, I am planning to purchase the Wacom Bamboo Tablet online. I was looking for the cheapest price for it, and I saw on Amazon a seller has it for $60.99 plus $6.99 shipping. Do you think this is a good price for the tablet?

  • do u have to charge the pen or not?

  • @mayoshirika Nope never =)

  • how much does it cost?:p

  • @amagallanes222 cheapest one i saw cost 80 - 300$

  • "Sorry about the lighting..."

    "The screen is just MASSIVE"

    ROFL!

  • YES! i now know that my touch screen is wide enuf!

  • i have a wacom bamboo fun tablet but for some reason it does not install after youve gone through all the intructions and crap...i have absoloustly no idea why. my dad sais our computer does not have enough memory to install. is this true do you think because i'm still stuck using my mouse when i draw computer and digital comics. please reply!

  • quick tip, use hypercam to record, it is better than using ur cam ^_^

p.s. do u think this would work with a PC mini? i have a DVD drive to hook it up, but will it work just the same? thnkies ^_^

  • Which tablet would be the best for just just drawing?

Like for a video game art designer, something like that.

  • @c0ddlefl0p depends what you want. If you want an inexpensive solution there's one from Wacom that sells in futureshop for only $79 or less, and it's actually a very nice product for pen input. 512 pressure levels, 5.6x3.4" writing area.

  • @AdamKaoru

Cheers ill look that up :)

  • is it possibly to use wacom bamboo for a 14inch laptop (screen) -for making e.g. flash animations

  • :o how do u click w/ the tablet?

  • I don't know a lot about Wacom Bamboo tablet because I don't have it.

But this morning I used it for the first time (I always wanted to try that out)

And as far as I can remember you have to hold you pen a bit above the surface of the tablet to move and if you want to click you just have to touch the surface with your pen.

    And that's a click.

If I would be wrong than someone correct me please but I'm pretty sure it was like that.

  • @LittleMissLucky2009 you tap..

  • watch the first rview and you'll see what it comes with

  • So, does it come with the USB cable?

  • yes it does.

  • hi there..wich one is good for Adobe CS3

    intuos or bamboo..??

  • So.. Does it work with batteries? Because they suck and I just want to plug it in with usb.

    Not wiressly,

  • It will not need any batteries. The tablet gets its power from the USB port of the PC. Both the tablet and the pen are little radio transmitters. The tablet will send out radio-frequency bursts of electrical energy which will power the transmitter in the pen. The pen will then send a burst of energy back to the tablet and the antennas in the tablet are able to sense the direction from which the response burst was coming. This positional information is then converted into the pointer coordinates.

  • It all depends on what you're going to do with it. If you're serious about graphic arts, I would get the Intuos. The Bamboo will suffice for all the casual needs.

  • @srvwannabe Do the nibs wear down on this like they do with the intuos?

  • @srvwannabe

What casual needs? touch up can be done w/ a mouse if you zoom close enough. But it is a good substitution for a mouse. Damn it TSA, why didn't you steal that one? whyyyyy? lol...j/k.

The Bamboo is superb when use for gaming. Love it when you lost track of your original position (cause you lift your pen up?)

It is only good for one thing, maybe Wacom copy the design from those credit card processor? you know? b/c the tablet sign better than those thing.

  • @VirtualBlock The pen? no the pen is without batteryies the tablet itself is not wireless it get plugged in by mini usb to normal usb :p

  • @VirtualBlock and when he said my batteries about to die he probably ment his recording camera ^^

  • wow total tech flashback..photoshop 7...i have the cs4 master suite which is like photoshop 12. And i just ordered one of these. its a newer style with the buttons on the left

  • so.... can u move the mouse without actually touching the... tablet thing.. with the pen?

  • Click on "all comments" and scroll to the bottom of the comments. It will answer your question more thoroughly. The quick answer is, "Yes, you can move the mouse without actually touching the...tablet thing...with the pen".

  • ohhhhh thanx

  • @zombra89 yeah, you just hover over it. Touching the tablet with the pen is like clicking with your mouse ^^

  • i live in knoxville!!

  • do you thank it will work on my mac book?

  • what do you mean by that?

  • it should run ;) my bamboo works on PC and Mac

  • Yes, it works on mac too.

  • Heres a magical fact. I was bored today so I plugged my Bamboo into my PS3 turns out you can navigate through the PS3 with it. Yup the two pen buttons act as Triangle and the PSButton and you can scroll through the menu by moving the pen. Your move Xbox hehe

  • ha.

Too bad PS3 is still waiting for Gran Turismo 5.

    Forza 3 4 teh win!

  • i tried it!!!

  • @gamegeek2107 right. cuz its been my dream for ages to use a pen to play xbox. the ps3 is obviously the better system! lol. i know this is a light hearted comment i'm responded to but i'm done hearing that one system is better the the other.

  • @philupmybucket I honestly believe both systems are just as good as each other, they both have there pro's and cons etc. I just wondered why a ps3 would be compatible with a tablet, and was merely stating that the PS3 is more "hardware" compatible! ^^

  • @gamegeek2107 yeah haha. same here. and i wasn't trying to bash you out or anything. i was just pointing out the insistent battle that annoys me

  • @gamegeek2107 Works with Xbox too... -_-

  • @GoneGuru99 Touche well this proves that wacom thought of everything! PC Mac xbox and ps3! Three cheers for wacom!!!

  • well i never used one before so it's kinda stupid that everyone is reacting like that -.-

so what it's a normal question can you use ut without a computer? so ITS A NORMAL QUESTION! XD

    well never mind ^^

  • I agree, why don't you just answer?

Yes Anne it needs to be pluged in a computer to work.

  • alright thank you! ^^

  • COOOL!!

    Christopher Walken is into photoshop!!!

  • shut up.

  • are you for real?

  • eh.. yeah @-@

  • only with C=

  • (Epic?) Fail!

  • how do you click and drag?

  • the tip of the pen is resistent right? and what resulotion should i use with my computer?

  • it really does not matter, the tablet automatically resizes to whatever size your screen is

  • i already bought it and its great :D worth buying it

  • Is that a Dell 2408WFP? If so how is it with the tablet? Because I have the same screen then and I'm thinking about buying the same tablet.

  • Hello I've been looking in to buying one of these and Thank you for the review. How much do one thos go for?

  • ha my dad just bought that monitor two days ago lol

  • wow you have the same pc as me :P

  • how big is the tablet (pad)? is it a 8x6? or smaller? -just wondering-

  • size of A5 papir.. or half the size of a normal printer papir.. but you can set the tablet to be as a mous.. if you feel the area is two small to fit your screen...

with a mous i meen, you can like move the pen 3 mm to the surface then move the way you want, lift it move it back en go up again... like with a mouse when you lift it to move... well hope you get the point :P

  • well the working space (pad) on the (small) bamboo is 4" X 6".

  • it's about 3.5 x 5.7 (i believe...)

  • 147.6 x 92.3 mm

  • If hes using the small version which i think he is its 6x2.

  • with the bamboo fun, can you take notes like the bamboo can?

  • I heard that it's a little complicated, I will definetely buy a bamboo not a bamboo fun as it can be used for photoshop and also good for writing, the problem is that if you don't have Vista you won't be able to write :)

  • Dan, The regular Bamboo by Wacom does not come with any other software besides the start up stuff. But the Bamboo Fun comes with 3 other programs Including Photoshop CS3 Elements. I reccomend returning the Bamboo and going out to get the Bamboo Fun.

  • What size is your tablet? Small or medium?

  • work with vista>?

  • he is on vista, so i guess so... lol. obvious one.

  • does it work with windows xp sp2? coz i wanna buy bamboo tablet

  • Requires computer running Windows 2000, XP, or Vista (32 or 64-bit) or a Macintosh running Mac OS X 10.3.9+, Intel or PowerPC Processor

  • Simple question anyone could answer for me please? Does this work well with drawing in paintbrush and other simple programs? I am wondering about since it can be used as a mouse, will it draw or will it require you to be pressing a button while moving?

  • would you recommend this to take notes in class???

  • its called either paper or note pad.....

  • lol, your an idiot

  • Uhhh???

  • y do u said that?

  • oh oh... showing off with the indesicive flipping of highlighting programs. (in the beginning) haha

    wacom is truly remarkable

  • I was wondering what computer system the bamboo tablet work with

But now I see you have the same type computer as me, so I think i might get one myself =]

  • tell its work with windows vista home basic ?Cause I want to buy one

  • It does with with Vista Home. I am running it with Vista Home Preium 64bit and works like a charm!

  • there are two. Wacom Bamboo and Wacom Bamboo Fun. U should get Wacom Bamboo it comes just wit the tablet and no other software. check out the main web. :3 maybe google?

lol i also wanna get a tablet for my anime/manga drawings.

  • Hey man, was just wondering like im planing on getting one of these for drawing is the bamboo fun better for drawing as on the website is says that this version that you have is more for office use, but for drawing in general how do you find it ? thanks

  • Hi ! I'm really interested in one of these tablets, and I've got a couple of questions for you:

I like to create animated movies and post them on youtube. (well, I haven't yet and id REALLY like too) Would the Wacom Bamboo be a good choice for me? If not, do you know of a inexpensive alternative tablet?

Is it possible to get it in a larger size?

  • Yes, I've seen numerous animations from people that have used this tablet. There are larger sizes available from Wacom but remember that as the size goes up, so does the price.

  • I apologize for responding so late.. I definitely don't think its worth spending the extra money on software if you already have CS3. Photoshop is miles ahead of any software that'll come bundled. The inclusion of a mouse, however, may be tempting enough to spend the extra money on a Bamboo Fun assuming its not too much more.

  • If you need the MOUSE, then get the FUN version version that is one up from this one. You will basically be paying $30 for a mouse. I had/have graphire and never once used the mouse....I have a mouse already.....don't need a wireless one. What I would like to see Wacom do is give 2 pen's...they are easy to lose....LOLOL

  • um.. how would you make the video wide screen?

  • i would like to get the tablet but i need to know how to use it for making videos. I want to make flash videos but i am unable to. Ive learned that the tablet will help you draw, but how do you get it to move? If anyone knows please tell me here or on my page, Thanks

  • For the buttons (hotlinks?), can you set them to anything? I have GIMP and Ms Paint and not Photoshop.

  • Yes your can set them to any key combination. They will stay the same until you change them. Say you set one to "Ctrl + R" that button will always execute that function no matter what program until you change it.

  • Thanks! I'm getting my tablet today and I just wanted to know. :3

  • Does it work for widescreen monitors?

  • yes it does

  • Would have liked to have seen some footage of the pen actually being used to draw, rather than just showing it's ability to function as a mouse replacement.

I'm considering getting one of these as a first tablet, and wanted to know how it functioned as a drawing tool. For example, how the pressure sensitivity feels when using the brush tool in photoshop etc.

Fancy making a quick vid? Would really appreciate it! :)

  • yes i've been meaning to make another video to discuss these issues. I'll post it very soon

  • hey does it come with photshop 7.0 or do you have to buy that cuz i just got one but cant find photoshop.

  • you have to be one of the biggest nerds ever! "THE SCREEN IS JUST MASSIVE" =P

  • lol you're getting alot of errors...might deter some customers

  • hi

    just one question

dont you have some problems whit the proportions between the screen and the tablet ?

your screen is too wide and you tablet is a normal A6 i think i will be better whit a wacom intuos3 A5-wide

    anyway thanksfor the review

and sorry for my poor english :$

  • no the tablet works great with my monitor. so far i've had no problems with the proportional differences between the two. I'll look into the intuos A5-wide though. the main reason i bought this was the $60 pricetag =P

  • Hi!

Im really interested in these, though unfortunately Ive never had the chance to try one so im unsure. Just a couple questions:

So to move your cursor around the screen without clicking, do you need to have the pen hovering above the tablet, or does the pen touch the tablet, and to click you have to press a button or push down harder? and is it possible to switch the settings so it can do either of what i just said?

    Cheers!

  • By default, the cursor is controlled by holding the pen 3 mm to 5 mm above the surface of the tablet. To left click, you need only to tap the pen to the tablet in the location you wish to click. Right click is controlled by hovering your cursor over the item you wish to select and pressing the top button on the pen. These settings are completely programmable so if you wanted to navigate the cursor by touching the pen to the tablet and using a button as left click, you have the capability.

  • Cheers.

Nice review :) I think my dad has one of them somewhere so next time i see him ill try it out. Thnx again
