  • LOBBYING SHOULD BE BANNED

  • Far from everyone who download the stuff would actually buy the stuff if they did not have the option of downloading it.

  • if this comes in law one day i will stop listening music, ill stop watching movies and ill stop playing games and thats what every should do.

  • Obama - lobbyist marionette

  • So what is sopa actually going to do

  • @aiciscraft lol

  • at last a good well balanced and level headed report (no rants)

as an artist i agree it needs policing but not the SOPA way because the courts get the money never the artist.

I reckon if users could dnload anything anywhere but had a simple prompt to say 'copyright detection: this dnload can be added to your internet bill for $1 - click here' i think it would massively increase sales and save the industry the bother of selling it themselves.

I realise this is impossible to do but a nice dream

  • 1). Hard to believe copyright law cannot be upheld in an entirely automated manner in dealing with digitized data.

    2) The shutdown of Megaupload rather reveals SOPA and PIPA are not necessary for enforcing copyright law on the web.

  • Im ashamed just listening to this old dinosaur pro-SOPA douche

  • SOPA'S not going to happen.

Despite all their money, Hollywood and the music industry moguls can NOT compete with the number of votes that would be lost by the constituents of any candidate that voted of SOPA or PIPA.

  • I typing because this crap hasnt passed yet.STOP SOPA

  • The internet was created with the idea in mind that it would not be owned by anyone and it would be used by everyone. By passing this bill, they are giving control of the internet over to corporations. And out of all the possible people or organizations that you really don't want to have any say on how the internet is run, corporations would be the worst.

  • Fck. them! If i download a film from a net and I like it, i will go to the cinema to see it there! Otherwise i wouldn’t go, because I don't know if that movie is shit or good. And i don't want to pay, and waste time for shit! I think in this way pirate sites just bring more money to the authors. The same is the situations with books, and music. If i know it's good, i will buy it. If I don't know anything about it except what advertisements say, I won’t spend money on it.

  • America, land of the free, just as long as you do what the politicians say.

  • I say rethink digital copyrighting!

  • 40,000 new laws in 2012 goes on the books for State and Local government is unreal. This new legislation is more laws we do not need. Keep the governments out of the internet around the world.

  • If they want to legislate online piracy then go after the Mega-corporations who craeted the software to do it. They have been left out of this equation totally yet are the very creators and distributors.

Like the banking industry these parasites suck the life out of the commoners.

  • @RenegadeTimes Thumb that guy so Al Jazeera can do a story on this.

    watch?v=WJIuYgIvKsc

  • "You're free America you're free. You're free to do as we tell you."

    Bill Hicks ~ RIP

  • CATO Chimp dude!

  • 9:04 damn this guy has some huge monkey ears

  • i hope sopa passes, not because i hate piracy, but because it will upset all the white faggot liberals on the internet

  • @agents1986 fuck you

  • Bloody shop lifting will increase if government is ripping people

  • we shouldnt watch those fucking movies dont go to the cinemas.Would be much better if we read books, any way there is nothing good in the movies

  • people its time to wake up !

  • The celebrities and film industry are forced and payed off to back SOPA by the elite, who want complete dominance and control over the Internet so they can take down sites that give free info that incriminates them.

  • Comment removed

  • Intellectual property should not have a capitalistic but a communistic model for the public. Do you think innovation should only benefit the innovator? Do you think knowledge should require a price tag for one to have access for it, never mind one gaining the knowledge? Should we really be promoting ignorance?

  • Such a civil debate, free of propaganda, that I am not used to being an American. They all made valid points and even though I disagree with some, they don't seem to have a hidden agenda. Fox could learn a thing or two about this video.

  • Who is this presenter?

  • Austrian fuck.

  • SOPA forbids us a fundamental right ! The founding fathers would be sad to see what they want to do !

  • Obama is the person in the US government who isnt retarded

  • ITS NOT LIKE WE ARE'NT PAYING ! WE PAY FOR OUR INTERNET CONNECTION EACH MONTH ALREADY, JUST AS WE PAY FOR A TV LICENCE TO SEE THINGS ON TV.... THE PIRATES AINT OUR FAULT !!!!!!

  • We'll have to pay to breath air next !

  • all of the internet providers would suffer as well, it wouldnt be worth paying for if you cant do or watch anything

  • Some of you people just dont get it, this has nothing to do with illegal file sharing!

It's the first step in censoring the net!

    Wake up idiots!

Soon you wont have access to world media, history will be rewritten, lies will prevail, crimes against humanity will never see the light of day, every American should be taking to the streets over this issue.

  • Just as religion, when things are taken to an extremist manner such as this legislation, the world will suffer.

  • You're no longer a "brave" people, your Democracy never was and now you are giving up your freedoms? How long will American people sit by and let these Jewish criminals take such a once glorious nation away from it's people? You can keep bombing the Muslim world and demonizing our populations or you can wake the fuck up and take control of your damn country!

Movie and music industry wants to censor the net? Guess who owns them? You'll get 5 holocaust movies a year in return!

  • Profit for the few, poverty (material and now, intellectual) for the masses!

All hail capitalism, mendacious destroyer of life on Earth.

  • It used to be that you couldn't hear music unless you were sitting within earshot of a musical instrument. Musicians should get back to relying on the earnings of live shows with anything else being a bonus.

  • I would like to add that piracy is doing very little to hurt the film industry, with a revenue $10.46 bn dollars with a profit of $1.33.

    In 2011 they made $9.94, $1.25 profit.

Beat the pirates by providing a better service, they're still earning huge numbers.

Apple are still raking in huge numbers close to $16bn total with itunes and hardware. In terms of gaming: Valve made $1bn as of 2011. Music: UK music industry made around £3.8bn 2010. Total is at around $30 bn in 2011. Provide a be

  • @TheLolthazun Also. These pirates are not exactly on the same level of drug lords, gang leaders, serial killers etc. They're just ordinary people that can't be bothered paying for stuff. I myself am guilty of piracy. I do use spotify now to support artists rather than going to torrent sites.

If you provide a better service than the pirates... Netflix aswell seems very good to my ears aswell for movies... then customers will come flocking to you.

  • The entertainment industry must truly be slow in thinking for this prime reason. Even though pirates can rip the video (or better yet they have an inside man who WORKS in the industry AND makes a copy of the movie or music), what the entertainment industry should be thinking is "how will I be able to *MARKET* my products ONLINE? Oh! Thats right! If the bill gets pass then say goodbye to marketing for the entertainment industry. One last point, ladies and gents please sign the bill!!!

  • @Onaku07 Meaning: that the entertainment industry would not be able to market or advertise their works online if this bill gets passed. Hopefully, they'll come to their senses for even the Government uses the internet for their research. As well as congress who do have facebook pages and try to tell the people to vote for them or their policies etc. So they will be losing out as well. I swear the folks in office need to speak before talking.

  • Hundreds of millions of dollars each movie isnt enough for them? Greedy fucks.

  • If SOPA passed the ENTIRE internet would suffer.

  • "out 50 bucks" LOL

  • copy writes and patents are a greedy man's tools that slow down progress

  • vote for sopa dont be racist

  • VIVA LA LIBERTAD!!!

  • We well fight for our freedom.
