@lildickheads but wouldn't these sort of people have sensors that can pick up where people are on the battle field. plus, most of the battles you get into are to quick for camouflage to be very useful. and it is also possible that some groups use camouflage, human army probably does, and i wouldn't be surprised if the turian's didn't.
i love how thane and shepard are using cover in the early stages, then grunt just walks around in the open and also...thane was meant to have pull? would of made him the perfect partner
Hey BioWare, can I have a game with impossibly good graphics, storytelling that surpasses James Joyce and Dostoyevsky, gameplay better than Deus Ex and Fallout, and the roleplaying of Baldur's Gate and Planescape? In addition, I want cinematic moments that compete with films like 2001 and Aliens without seeming derivative, and a world map with an area greater than Earth's which I can explore freely without disrupting the flow of the missions. Oh yeah, also multiplayer even though this is an RPG.

I've always said that the measure of a good game is in how much it gives to the player. As such, ME are two of the best games ever made.
The only thing BioWare needs to do to for ME3 is surpass ME1&2 in how much it gives to the player. That means better story, longer missions, more intricate role-playing, more weapons and customization, more vehicles, new more intense situations, etc.
I think one good space battle where you actually command the Normandy in combat would probably seal it for me.

A intergalactic trade market where u can trade Iridium, Palladium, Platinum and Element Zero for some courses like Palladium Element Zero 1:4 would be great as well.
I just noticed that the environment that Shepard, Thane, and Grunt are fighting in is in a side quest in ME2. The mission where you have to choose between saving the industrial district or residential district. One of the pictures on the screen is of the arena shown in the cinematic.
I'm extremely happy to see other fans not wanting a multiplayer in ME3. Not every game needs one, especially one with an absolutely amazing single player experience. I'm reeeeeeally glad Bioware didn't just throw in multiplayer just cause it's the trend these days.
If bioware dares make a multiplayer.. make another F*cking game!!!! they'd ruin mass effect 3...
And sure, make a Dragon age like inventory system... much better, simpler too! many unique items... but give us the upgrade system as well and more armor too!! and keep the customazing options ofr armor.. just give them diffenrent models.. cause in ME 1 all armor looked the same apart from Heavy, Medium, Light armor stuff.. the difference betwen each were textures..
If they make a mass effect movie, they better not put Shepard in it. Think about it: if movie shep did paragon action, then the renegade players will be mad and vise versa. The movie should chronicle the First Contact War IMO.

what they should do for ME# is... don't make the main mission any larger but create a larger world and leave the option of exploration to the gamer. and promote the exploration with a heavier emphasis on the side missions. also allow multiple character profiles so the player can expeirience multple classes without having to erase all previos accomplishments. oh, and one more thing ONLINE!
@willardftw No, Mass Effect doesn't need online gameplay, that's for random first person shooters. It's fine to play the whole story and explore the galaxy on your own just like other normal role-playing games.

Mass Effect is more enjoyable when you playing it alone so you can concentrate on the storyline, unless if you're the multi-player shooter type of gamer and just wanna get into the action. It is an RPG, where you take your time exploring the galaxy. For me, saving the galaxy alone is much more epic than playing with some friends who will most probably just shout at you to skip the cutscenes and dialogues. Not saying co-op is bad, but not suitable for all games. Not this one.
@keioII You won that argument, good sir. I still think it should at least be an option, though. Besides, if the people playing together were all people who had enjoyed all the exploring and cutscenes (people who played the previous games), then the yelling to skip the cutscenes wouldn't happen.

Mass Effect 2 was far away from an RPG...but it has something that most games in the last few years lack...A good story...You wanna play a fast paced shooter...go playe Quake...it has more than enough action...Or if u want a full scale RPG go find Baldur's Gate 1/2...
The story of the game and the way it was told had more than enough to make me play it start to finish countless times...no matter how many thing where "lacking"...
I hope Mass Effect 3 will be much larger than ME2, which felt more like a complex shooter than an actual RPG. ME3 should have more exploring and bigger, more complex sidequests, as well as a proficient armor system. The worst part of Mass Effect 2 was that they took away all the actual item managing and replaced it with upgrading, thus taking away the epic feeling of doing quests for better armor/weapons. ME3's system should be an intermediary point between ME1 and ME2 taking the best of each.
no~~mass effect's inventory system is a fail I have to say that, you will find tons of garbage in the inventory and spend tons of time to find a useful item~~and I also disagree about the side-quests, Mass Effect is a story-based rpg not free-roaming, they should keep side-quests as simple as possible more effort to the cinematic feeling
@jarodpaulsun That's exactly what I was saying about the item system; it should handle somewhat like Fallout's, in which you find several items but only a few are useful. I'm not saying that the game should definitely be free roaming, all I'm saying is that if they are gonna force resource hunting so we can upgrade, at least have it be entertaining instead of probing shit. The sidequests should probably also be more than "go here, blow this up, get reward"

@Zyphes ya the combat is fun but the missions are too short and there should be a bit more shooting and a bit less talking, mining, and looking around for fancy new toys. speaking of fancy new toys, there aren't enough guns in the game for it to be a full shooter and there arent enough customizing options for it to be a full rpg. still, i think its great how they integrated an awesome story into the game and if that has to be sacrificed then i'd rather they kept it this way...

@Zyphes I see the upgrading system as an improvement, although I've never played ME1. This isn't WoW, we aren't supposed to be managing a tedious amount of equipment or spending an hour just to get one piece of a suit of armor slightly better than the one currently owned. This is fucking Mass Effect, we're saving an entire galaxy from an army of sapient super ships, we don't need to worry about killing a hundred people for a gun.

Meh. I never liked that about ME: All the weapons you got were basically a slightly better version of the same weapon. Still, ME2 overdid it, and should need MORE weapons :P. Altough heekping in mind the variance thing.
@Zyphes I agree with you, however, in ME1 I felt that you couldnt look the way you wanted. I want them to bring back the whole uppgrade system they had in ME1 but keep the way you can customize your gears looks so you dont have to look like an idiot just because the gear got good stats.
@Zyphes it will be. personally i loved that they stripped down some of the RPG elements in ME2 (i spent way too long in the equipment screen in the first game) but bioware has made it a point that 3 will be on an epic scale with a lot more RPG elements this time around. theyre gonna try and hit the sweet spot between shooter and RPG and i think theyre gonna do it

I can never get enough of anything of mass effect.. The books and comic.. read numerous times.. the imagination of the game ? Makes me hate the present.. The soundtrack? unbelievable. Playing mass effect has given me the deep passion for space, which is why the past 2 to 3 years i have been working my ass off for cosmology. N7 Tattoo? always fresh.

@keioII You won that argument, good sir. I still think it should at least be an option, though. Besides, if the people playing together were all people who had enjoyed all the exploring and cutscenes (people who played the previous games), then the yelling to skip the cutscenes wouldn't happen.

Mass Effect 2 was far away from an RPG...but it has something that most games in the last few years lack...A good story...You wanna play a fast paced shooter...go playe Quake...it has more than enough action...Or if u want a full scale RPG go find Baldur's Gate 1/2...
The story of the game and the way it was told had more than enough to make me play it start to finish countless times...no matter how many thing where "lacking"...

I hope Mass Effect 3 will be much larger than ME2, which felt more like a complex shooter than an actual RPG. ME3 should have more exploring and bigger, more complex sidequests, as well as a proficient armor system. The worst part of Mass Effect 2 was that they took away all the actual item managing and replaced it with upgrading, thus taking away the epic feeling of doing quests for better armor/weapons. ME3's system should be an intermediary point between ME1 and ME2 taking the best of each.

no~~mass effect's inventory system is a fail I have to say that, you will find tons of garbage in the inventory and spend tons of time to find a useful item~~and I also disagree about the side-quests, Mass Effect is a story-based rpg not free-roaming, they should keep side-quests as simple as possible more effort to the cinematic feeling

@jarodpaulsun That's exactly what I was saying about the item system; it should handle somewhat like Fallout's, in which you find several items but only a few are useful. I'm not saying that the game should definitely be free roaming, all I'm saying is that if they are gonna force resource hunting so we can upgrade, at least have it be entertaining instead of probing shit. The sidequests should probably also be more than "go here, blow this up, get reward"

@Zyphes ya the combat is fun but the missions are too short and there should be a bit more shooting and a bit less talking, mining, and looking around for fancy new toys. speaking of fancy new toys, there aren't enough guns in the game for it to be a full shooter and there arent enough customizing options for it to be a full rpg. still, i think its great how they integrated an awesome story into the game and if that has to be sacrificed then i'd rather they kept it this way...

@Zyphes I see the upgrading system as an improvement, although I've never played ME1. This isn't WoW, we aren't supposed to be managing a tedious amount of equipment or spending an hour just to get one piece of a suit of armor slightly better than the one currently owned. This is fucking Mass Effect, we're saving an entire galaxy from an army of sapient super ships, we don't need to worry about killing a hundred people for a gun.

All I'm saying is that if they are gonna give the game the freedom they gave it to explore and do sidequests like a proper RPG, they might as well add some reward to exploring the huge world by making a better inventory system that makes item not a statistic that you obtain through tediously probing planets, but actually visible weapons and armors that you work for.

@Zyphes Hmm I don't know if I agree with you there on everything. I love ME1 but ADORE ME2 and really loved that they included more shooting in it. It should be a serious must to include more action type game play. I hated going threw hundreds if different items to pick the best one available it was hard and boring. While I do thing it's a RPG game I wouldn't call it a real RPG game. Like the other guy said this isn't WoW it's Mass Effect. They shouldn't change a thing

Meh. I never liked that about ME: All the weapons you got were basically a slightly better version of the same weapon. Still, ME2 overdid it, and should need MORE weapons :P. Altough heekping in mind the variance thing.

@Zyphes I agree with you, however, in ME1 I felt that you couldnt look the way you wanted. I want them to bring back the whole uppgrade system they had in ME1 but keep the way you can customize your gears looks so you dont have to look like an idiot just because the gear got good stats.

@Zyphes it will be. personally i loved that they stripped down some of the RPG elements in ME2 (i spent way too long in the equipment screen in the first game) but bioware has made it a point that 3 will be on an epic scale with a lot more RPG elements this time around. theyre gonna try and hit the sweet spot between shooter and RPG and i think theyre gonna do it

@Zyphes so whats your point mass effect 3 is an rpg to the core definition of role playing = role playing, your character chooses who dies you choose what your character looks like if hes a bad ass evil or good do you kill everybody or rescue everybody not dumb invo systems and lvling the only reason thats there is to limit what you can do but an rpg is just a game where literally chose and pretend to be said character

i am the number 0.5 fan..
I can never get enough of anything of mass effect.. The books and comic.. read numerous times.. the imagination of the game ? Makes me hate the present.. The soundtrack? unbelievable. Playing mass effect has given me the deep passion for space, which is why the past 2 to 3 years i have been working my ass off for cosmology. N7 Tattoo? always fresh.
