That sure sounds good bud,,I love to hear banjo pickin with the tuners breaks in it.Home sweet home it a good one for it.you've got it mastered for sure. Thanks for posting.. Chuck.
Hmmm... I thought it was an idea of Don Reno's to tune the strings for this tune, though I believe he bent the strings with his finger behind the nut rather than using D-tuners. Anyway great picking there!
You're right Haydn, Reno did bend the strings with his fingers behind the nut. A lot of banjo pickers do that still. I'm just too lazy to do it! lol Thanks1
Doing it that way is sheer hell on the fingers. Don Reno wasn`t the first to play the tune by "bending" the strings, D tuners or not. I heard him tell some folks up at New River Ranch in Maryland that he heard Hubert Davis (?) do it, raced to the studio and played all the parts himself by overdubing to get his King recording out in a hurry.
very good

this sounds very much like the version I had on an old rounder label Cd of very early bluegrass music from lots of folks.

Now that's how it's done Barry! I wish I could play like that! My banjo doesn't have the Scruggs tuners either.
