  • That dog looks really interested.

  • I live down in Texas and we don't have'em that big.And I have always heard everything is bigger in TX.HA HA not everything. Hu

  • 2:58 is it nettle?

  • wow those are Huge crawfish!

  • He said those crawfish where an invasive species from america.

I would give my right testical to catch crawfish that size in Pennsylvania.

We use to catch them in PA that size about 40 years ago.

The largest crawfish are about 3 inches now.

Nothing like a big pot of fresh water lobster and COLD beer.

  • Wow. Let's go camping, I'll bring the garlic ghee.

  • Aussies call them 'yabbies'. (????)

  • Heh, my dad used to go diving in rivers and catch them with his bare hands. Works as long as the water is clear.

  • Lovely!

  • "There's more meat in the claws"

  • Great video and i love the music, we go after the Yabbys in Australia when i am visiting the inlaws, we just take out the vein the same way and twist the entire lower body off, then its in the pan with butter and garlic. I will try this how ever with the nettle's i think i will add a little cream and garlic to those also.

    thanks again.

  • Great stuff thanks mate!

  • Ate a lot of those "mud bugs" growing up on the farm in Mississippi USA. Caught them with bacon tied to a string or by hand carefully.

The meat is delicate and white when cooked.

With an average campfire, takes about twenty to thirty minutes to slowly cook till done. When raw, you can cut off the head and peel the tail and saute the flesh in a margarine with a little salt and pepper or simply coat the peeled tail muscle with cornmeal and fry them. In a large pot, toss in whole and boil.

  • how long do u cook it

  • i love cooking craw fish like this, get a few of these and you've got a great little snack 5/5

  • Thank you,

    Pam, Chris,Kelly and Russ.(Trevors family)

  • that is real good eating,we boil them with some spices, good eating

  • You can make a great trap for them out of 3 liter bottles. Bait it and just check the next day. A couple of these traps and you can eat well. Crawfish is Great meat too. Its one of the best and easyist to catch for me and my area. 3-4 traps well placed can feed me for a good day.

  • do you have a how to video of how to make the trap?

  • I caught some in a stream when I was younger using a plastic bag. I wonder if I can do it again?

  • That sure looks tasty to me!

Did you catch these in fresh or salt water?

  • fresh

  • Thanks!

  • poor mans shrimp

  • sucking the brains out supposed to be the best bit

  • that looks tasty. Are they in all rivers ????

  • where u from?

  • great vid but it seems an awful lot of work for not much food

i dont think i would bother for less than 20 of them.

  • great video keep them coming

  • ...no salt??

  • Salt will be hard to come by in a survival situation.

  • lol i've caught hundreds of crayfish in my day and i live in america and not one of them was ever that big..........

  • I've herd people describe them as tasting like slimy mud, I suppose its the way you cook them. Grate video as always.

  • looks good I've never roasted them over a fire on a stick. I've always boiled them in beer or water.
