you never say that a painting is bad . you rather say you don't like it . to me that is a pretty good painting .... besides the music is great one of my favorites ever.. Vivaldi
dear fellow vivaldi fans: please list your 2 favorite/most beautiful vivaldi movements....for me its the II mvt. of 443....and trying to find others. thank you!
Amazing music. Vivakdi is an endless source of brillant music. this is a dream-like piece, so armonic... thank you very much for uploading this great track.
Look, I have a cd of Harmonia Mundi where plays Michael Schneider with Camerata Köln, and there is wrong!!! o.OThere says "RV444" for this one. Check it in Amazon or somewhere... I apologize... :o)
I respectfully disagree with the criticism of the picture choice.I find it thrillingly well matched to the sonority and rhetorical tenor of this piece as the canvas blue is the chesty sound of the recorder and the lantern juxtaposed with the solitary gondoliere is the vulnerably luminescent affect of the rhetoric.
Ugh, like there aren't enough bad pictures of flowers and trees for classical music videos here on youtube. I like to think classical music conjures up different images then just plants and rocks.
I picked this one because the second movement, which is the real gem of this piece, reminds me of Venice at night. However, I will give it to you that from an artistic standpoint, this is a pretty bad painting. :)
I know... I know music conjures different perspectives... Ok... most of my words are completely senseless... but my point is... Nature would have been a nice scene.... You are a true artist, in your own way... Hell, we all are... although i can't say the same for a few...
I actually think that this painting was quite fitting. I think that a grim cityscape painting would do well for some of the more serious and grave pieces....
To me there is nothing _directly_ related about the painting; yet, I can imagine gently riding in a gondola through Venice on a cool, lantern-lit, night as the faint sound of Vivaldi's concert escapes the hall; and so, unlike UlimorUdamenta, I remain offended.
Imagine at night... playing the 2nd movement in the very heart of Venice... and this painting shows the atmosphere and mood! Its very good to be honest.
A very interesting picture aswell, I love the accidental smudges in the background. =))
@HARMONICO101 no you picked the right artwork becuase vivaldi is from venice and who ever has been to venice, like me, when i hear vivaldi's beautiful music i feel like as if i am walking in the streest of venice :)
If you have time, look here in youtube for "Il giardino dei trifogli - Parte A (The clovers garden),2005". Its a short movie I did, based on this masterpiece of Vivaldi and having in mind exaclty what you said: nature, nature, nature!

When I was a kid I'd play this peice over and over like it was top 40 song and fantasize about being able to play like this.

You should try the largo movment. It is not too hard to... study. Playing it like a true flute player is another deal ;-)

Reminds me of Il Gardellino... BTW, wrong choice of artwork for this piece... Might i suggest a nature scene...
