Hi, sorry for the late response. I don't log in to Youtube often. VGA resolution is 640x480. The phone screen only supports qvga though which is 320x240.

For mediacoder the settings are as follows:

1. resolution = 352x288 or you can do 320x240.

2. encoder = xvid

3. container or extension = .3gp

4. bitrate based = 800 kbps. I usually set it to this rate first. Most phones can play at this bitrate. You can experiment and increase the bitrate to get better quality.

4. audio = nero encoder, 64bit, and cbr (constant bitrate)

5. for the cropping option I put "expand to fit" so the video retains its aspect ratio.

Hey thanks for quick reply! I did try using mediacoder BUT the file size ballooned from 50mb to 120mb... With that same settings i used SUPER video converter and it works! Thanks for taking time to answer

Hi there. Are you using mediacoder as well? Is the sound cutting in and out or stuttering? If so, try setting the mode to CBR (constant bitrate) and increasing the bitrate to 128. LC-AAC should be the right setting so you are right on that.

The episode had a container of .avi. If TVC errors out with bitrate, you way want to lower the bitrate. I'm not sure if you did that already. Also from my understanding realmedia type files have problems converting to other formats. I may try it tomorrow to see if I can convert rmvb file successfully.

i can convert with media coder, or total video converter.

media coder only converts to wmv.

TVC gives an error unsuported codec or invalid parameter such as bit rate.

I usually add music via memory card reader. Basically I just drag and drop the file onto the memory card. There should be a usb cable that comes with it. Make sure you have the phone set to usb mass storage in options instead of mtp. I don't have aac files to test out at the moment and I don't really use itunes, but I believe this phone plays aac natively.

Are you getting enough signal on the phone? When you don't have signal, your service will continue trying to send text messages to the phone until the phone gets signal again. Happened to me multiple times before in an area where I get weak signal. You may also want to check and make sure your sms settings are correct.

Yes. The flash is actually an led light. Wish it was a xenon flash, but I usually take pictures in the daytime.

Yes actually i could play the video using Quicktime and Realplayer as well, but as matter of fact is that i got a couple of video in my mobile and i need to edit them and stick them to each other to add some music in the as well before uploading it in youtube, and that needs WMM so this later couldnt play the video not regonize them at all..so with the WMP! this is driving me crazy indeed :( i am trying to fix it since 3 days ago without any positive reason :'( What can i do? :'(

oh I see. Okay hmm. What I would do is convert the mp4 files to wmv because I don't think moviemaker can play mp4 format. You can try mediacoder or super to conver the file. Also there's an online converter you can use without having to install software. media-convert dot com/convert/

I have U600 too , i have recorded some videos , but unfortunately wmv did not play it , i dunno why , i wanted to upload the video in youtube but couldnt since wmm couldnt regonize the video and play it :-((...any idea how to do it please? :(

hmm. I believe the format is mp4 so Quicktime player should play it perfectly. When you upload videos to youtube it will convert the video to flash and I think mp4 is an accepted format on youtube. Also a great player you may want to check it is gomplayer. No need for codec installations. Plays everything fine. Cheers!

I don't have any experience from the SEK790, but I know for sure it the SEK790 takes better pictures at night due to xenon flash. But Samsung U600 takes higher quality videos than the SEK790.

Hi i bought this phone the other day, could you help shed some light on it for me? If i go to transfer a large file ie. A movie via bluetooth from my mac computer it says i have not got enough memory for the file, even though i have a 1 gig memory card that is practically empty in it!!! Can anybody please help me???

does your mac have a card reader? I usually transfer files via card reader. I've tested this method on linux and windows with no problems. I wish I had a mac to test it out =(

if you transfer via bluetooh it goes onto the phone rather than the mem card. Doesnt seem to be a way to resolve this in the phone, i bought a card reader to write to the card instead or you can do it via the usb cable, though i had trouble with that too. Cant find the correct settings for converter though, just says 'unsupported media'.

strange...I don't have any issues with whole movies. What type of converter are you using? If you've already tried mediacoder, you can try 3GP Converter version 0.34. I've posted the link on my video description. It's just a drag and drop program. When you first run the software, make sure you run setup.exe thats located in the folder after extraction. Select your language and then choose 3GPP+AAC General Setting with either the xvid encoder or the regular one.
