the funny thing is, all this talk about drugs and music and how AWFUL it is, no one realizes how drugged up (by the studio she worked for) Judy Garland was in those days. She was already a nervous wreck, and a 16 yr old playing a child to boot. If you listen to her voice you can hear the quavers and the tension.

Studios owned the stars in those days and did what they had to to keep them functioning.
