Great job but I hope u don't mind few things I see wrong. You have done good job with everything but ear is too high and not right perspective, Neck is too fat and helmet looks weird i think just perspective. Other than that good work.
And what about the highlights? I think it's a brilliant picture. And then you add a couple of highlights and it's even more brilliant. Over and over again! :(
Wait . . . at 60 times the original speed, that makes about 314. Wow, that's amazing! I'd probably take me a year of working on it to get anywhere close to that, and even then it wouldn't look as good. Good job!
You did a great job showing the passing of time through use of sand as a means of symbolism. The coloring shows obvious signs of a almost sense of dreariness that a battle hard warrioir accumulates through his lifetime. Although, I believe that if you were to make use of age wrinkles in more than around his eyes it could really drive it home, and also I can't help but think that the expression on his face is lacking something...
wow, I really like his facial expression, looks like he's just about to go into a large epic battle and that he's not sure if he is ever going to live through it... but is still determined about what he's supposed to do. Heh, so, quite a lot in one painting :)
Im an art student and i know how much i would rather get a critique then a "GJ" so here is mine.I love the texture, you've mastered it. But i feel like the breast plate armor or skin could use a more texture(they are the same smoothness) and the whole thing is near2 the same color, it would help to have a fuller value scale, just a few more hues. But hey, im into canvas painting and this is computer concept art , 2 completely diffrent fields, so im probably wrong on alot of things. Later and gl
you know what , i just showed this to a friend in full screen and i can see the texture on the breast plate so much better, i just prefer the image at 3.54 min , compared to the finish, just the more color w/ the red but just a tad to bright.
i think the expression is pretty good, lookin like he's kinda focused on other, more melancolic times...
great job...
and a question: is a wacom worth buying? cause i do with mouse only and wacoms aren't that cheap... so if u could tell me a cheap solution to get a tablet, that is worth buying... thanks a lot, max
Well, the cintiq is certainly not cheap, but some of the other options are pretty cheap. Wacom sells a 99 dollar 4X5 tablet, and i think it's going to e way better then a mouse for drawing. I guess it depends on how much drawing you intend to do. If you're serious about doing some digital drawing and painting, I used a 6X8 intuos for a long time. They're $300 and they work great.
thats pretty tight man, im studying to be a concept artist, cant wait till i can afford a cintiq, haha. about trying to get the right expression for your quote thing, maybe if you had him looking down to his left, it would have matched better, it would have maybe showed he worries about other things and being some great soldier isnt exactly his focus at that point.
truly amazing

What a brushset you use for?
Its SO amazing
TacklDang 5 years ago
I mostly make my own brushes. The one that I use in this video is 10 or 12 lines, with pressure set to opacity, and angle jitter set to 100.

Also, to make a timelapse like this do you have a specific program or plug in to do that?
