The tales series always has amazing character development. I still prefer Tales of eternia over abyss. I havent played the other ones though. Wish I could relive my rpg playing experiences I used to have.

@Fireblaze15 I prefer the opposite. Abyss just overtook Eternia as my fav by a razor-thin margin. Eternia still holds a special place in my heart though.

Any "Tales of" game will literally make FF look like nothing.TOP came out back in 94 and was basically the FF10(with real time battles and not using menus) of its time

@ND3Elite Hahaha, oh no. No, no no. I generally prefer Tales to Final Fantasy, but what a silly statement that is. ToP was mediore at best, while FF4-6 (the same SNES era) were all significantly better than ToP (or ToD). FF's PS1 era are some of the best games ever, and they dominate ToD and ToE (though ToE kicked major ass.) However, PS2 era and on, yeah, Tales dominated Final Fantasy :)

its not realy their fault, its more like, why bother wasting money on translating a game no one will buy, don't forget that the Tales games were definitely NOT popular back when this was released and Tales games are still under cult status today except they're much more popular than before

Not popular? What the hell are you talking about? They had been releasing games in english from the Tales series since the Ps1. The only reason Symphonia became immensly popular in the U.S. was because there were barely any other J-RPG's on the Gamecube. If you want a "cult status" RPG series go play Shadow Hearts or Zone of the Enders.

Phantasia WASN'T released on the SNES in the US (and when it was it was a ROM translation,and even then it was STILL released here on the GBA), which is the country I'm talking about. And calling Tales an unpopular RPG series is idiotic in itself, seeing how it's had games on the SNES, Ps1, PS2, Gamecube, GBA, DS, PSP, 360, AND Wii, as well as three OVA's, an entire animated series AND an upcoming movie. Worldwide it's in the top three J-RPG series besides DQ and FF. Now who's the idiot?

Yeah, we get most of the games because it's POPULAR. Ask anyone that plays J-RPG's, even people that play normal RPG's, and they'll know about Tales, or have one of the games. Tales is not "cult."

Selling over 200,000 copies of one game in it's first US release is not "cult." The fact I went into a Newbury's to see an entire display for the games, as well as figurines of the ToA characters right next to the FF figurines is not "cult." Cult is Lunar, Shadow Hearts, Megaten, Growlanser.

Yes it is. Try play-asia. They have the original game for about $50 and the best hits rerelease (the case is slightly uglier) for about $35. You can try eBay too. Remember though, this is Destiny 2 JP for the PS2, NOT "Destiny II" English for the PS1.

Actually, the reason that Kyle's last name is that it is the Defalt last name of the ophanage that his mother runs. Hance, he takes on the name to showed that he was equal to the orphans

I have just started a petition on the the official tales forum for Tales of destiny on ps2 and Tales of destiny 2 on psp to be released in english, if you are interested in supporting the tales game please sign up to the forum and post, I have been in contact with a namco official who tells me it is completely possible because namco takes its letters, petitions and notes very seriously when it comes to keeping a game series alive.

It probably won't come because the original was released before tales made its mark in the states. And more than likely Tales of Eternia was released under the name of Destiny 2 which probably makes this pretty much the least likely to be released here.

I think the archer is actually chelsie from the original tales of destiny. And the kid with the skull as a helmet looks like leon abit. Garr also had more silver hair so the kid with the bow staff might be his son.

The archer isn't Chelsea. Chelsea and the archer in this game are two different people. As for the guy with the skull mask, well, if you look it up, you'll know. And the guy with the silver hair isn't Garr/Woodrow's son.
