Roger was murdered allegedly by his older brother who was his manager, and when Roger decided to go solo, and to fire his manager also brother he shot him 4 times and then shot himself, That's why it was never public, I'm guessing the family would want to keep that as private as possible, the older brother also was a part of Zapp, so an even greater loss than we know has been tragically taken from us and it when by almost un-noticed! which makes it even worse that they are gone, rip roger&zap

I did meet him, many moons ago in Memphis. He and Roger's nephew hung out with my cousins and I after a show they did with Dana Dane. It was called the Rapper vs The Zapper. Of course Roger blew it up. I thought about Roger Jr a lot over the years.  He sure was a good kisser....

I did not know Roger lived in Saint Paul. Dam I live in mpls wish I met him. But from time to time I use to see him on myspace but I could not believe he lived in Saint because the Twin cites is kind of low key town.

I grew up with Roger JR. in Saint paul, Mn. He was funny and a terrific baseball player. I can still hear him crackin' jokes playin' centerfield while I played 2nd base. His mother is a wonderful woman and I pray that God may bring peace to her heart.  I remember first album and how the whole 'hood was so proud of him.

Not at all. Rumor has it that the alleged killer was the ex bf of Roger's gf . I've searched for police reports, etc, but nothing. Roger was assaulted in the fall and died in Jan the next year.

This is about the FATHER's death( lead singer of Zapp). Roger Troutman had a son( same name) who was murdered and was a talented musician as well. Never This Legend Roger Troutman had No convictions his love for music was his whole lifes course. One of the very few family artists that Never did drugs also respect for that. Unfortunately his brother Larry shot him dead in his apartment then drove a block away and shot himself. Larry shot Roger due to Jelousy. He also has 2 other brothers Lester & Terry Troutman. R.I.P Roger respect.
