yeah, the word quiero means I like or I want, it depends the situation.

Whoever putting "te" before is making "you" the object of the sentence. Which is why it can't be that she is referring to want forbidden love, as she is already by the rest of the lyrics talking to her love in second person.

@MonMath Most of her songs were written by her brother A.B & fellow and members. This song was written abt her grandparents. Her grandpa was rich & her grandma wasnt. No one wanted to see them two together. She didnt care abt the fact that he had money. She just loved him. A wonderful love story, therefore making it a wonderful song!
