You must NOT grow strawberries. Overhead irrigation is also used for frost control when it gets too cold at night. Drip will not help with that. It is impractical to for most growers to invest in both drip AND overhead irrigation.
If you started 30 ACRES of strawberries you would KNOW what is happening here. You would have an investment of near $100,000 in plants and would NOT be asking these questions on you tube. The "Trench" as you refer to them are the spaces between the raised beds. Beds are formed to raise the soil up and provide better heating and moisture control. The high beds also help save the workers backs when transplanting and picking.
Why do farmers chose to grow one plant over another. Aren't blueberries more profitable?

how deep do u dig the trenches? i just started 30 acres of strawberries but im not sure how deep i should dig my trences.... a little help please?
