  • I'm still waiting for a VF Hi-Metal of the VF-25(F/G/S etc). :O

  • mine is so fucking tight i hate it

  • Comment removed

  • hi i'm from peru, i have a cuestion: in your experience... can you make a custom for this toy? i think if you change, cut, paste and add some parts MAYBE the vf can transform. well i don't have this toy but you have it. check it, compare it with your vf 25 1/60 and tell me if you can make a custom or not. thanks.

  • @alejandroso The toy transforms well out of the box, but it could be used to make a custom, but it's not something I plan to do.

  • Wow... this isn't a transformation, it's desintegration with rearangement of different pieces.

  • i got this one on ebay for $55 aus

  • I bet Hasbro or Takara could design a 1/100 scale vf-25 better than the designers of this toy.

  • OMG... i placed an order with HLJ after watching part 1. and cancelled it right away after watching part 2.

    LOL...

  • @jordibulkhead LoL, for 50% off it's not to bad!

  • The only reason I bought one is that they're on sale on HLJ for 50% off right now. All three of the VF100 VF-25s are on sale for 2400 yen right now.

  • @YuppieGearhead yeap, these are definitely worth it at half price! =D

  • thats one crappy transformation u should have gotten the bandai 1/72 injection kits

  • I.have them to. But haven't reviewed them yet

  • What brand is this? I never seen this VF-25F need so many parts removed to transform.

You guys should buy the self building 1/72 kit from Bandai. No need to remove legs, head or what nots... and it's way more detailed. cost more though.

  • An Example of NVF-25 (Non Variable Valkyrie)

  • @ryonankyo No, the 1/72 kits cost less, ironically, except for the armored, tornado packs, and the super versions.

  • this is giving me second thoughts about buying this guy.

  • Could you do a video going from Plane to Battroid? I'm trying to work in reverse from this video, but its not working out so well. The instructions that came with this only go from battroid to plane, and there are no details what to do when going backwards.

  • Dude, you just saved me the hassle of buying this thing. It looks awesome, but I'm just going to save up for the 1/60. Keep up the rockin' reviews.

  • is all macross v1/100 scale is like this??? i mean you must detached all parts bfore you transform to battroid then to valkyrie.

  • Of the ones I've seen yes, but the amount of parts vary. This being the most I've seen.

  • the toynami valks are not.

  • I might not have heard, so how much does a 1/72 cost, and where can you buy it?

  • It's about the same price, somewhere like HobbyLink Japan, HLJ

  • I mean like where can you buy it online?

Same price as what? I'd really one to buy one.

The only bummer is, you gotta take the whole thing apart for transformation, unlike the VF-1S, Hikaru Ichijo model. The gun too, needs no "second".

  • The link is HLJ just add the usual web stuff around it. YouTube doesn't like embedded url links

IMO, this isn't a good figure. I haven't gotten any more from the line and don't plan to.

    This 1/100 = 4800Y while the 1/72 = 4500Y I'd spend my money on the 1/72 because I like to build Plamo

  • 4500Y? How much is it in american money? So the 1/72 is cheaper than the 1/100? What's IMO? Sorry for all teh questions, lol.

  • About $47

    In My Opinion (IMO)

  • Ok, thanks!

  • The figure is disgusting!! Good thing I'm gonna stick to the 1/60 scale.

  • I was willing to accept a little bit of parts-forming but the sheer amount of little pieces, bits & bobs fiddling is ridiculous. Given the size and pricepoint, plamo looks to be the way for me.

And to think you can still get a fully transformable VF-1j Max fro under 20 quid :)

Waiting for Wizzy's review to nudge me over the spending edge...

  • I still have to decal the 1/72 ozma been upto me eyes with work and since this is my frist decalling job in like 20 years! don't want to mess it up.

  • No rush mate. Just anticipation :)

I've never even decal'd before and I can see that huge skull is going to be a toughy.

Looking to get Ozuma's Armoured Messiah when it gets released in june.

  • The armoured messiah looks very nice! Plus they've fixed the neck on Ozma.

  • lol

this is freaking different from the anime!

in th anime they dont have to wreck th whole plane to transform =P

lucky i havnt bought this one

  • Yikes. Im gonna stick to the 1/72 scale kits! The partsformation is excessive for a 50 dollar figure.

  • I'd be OK with this toy if the price tag was, let's say, at least 50% off the listed price. The 1/60DX is too ugly and expensive for me, so I am now stuck with plamo that I cannot assemble to their full glory!

  • I started off on the GunPla stuff before building my 1/72 scale Messiah. As the 1/72 is the hardest kit I've done so far.

  • I´ve done a MG Zaku II V2.0 and compared to the VF, it's a lot easier: no transformation, no decals, no rubbing.

Technically speaking, making the VF is not so hard, but making it properly (so the decals don't peel, etc) isn't a walk in the park. I wish we had an option other than the DX and this 1/100 partsformer....been a fan of Macross for 25 years and VF-1 V2.0 is sitting on my shelf, hopefully we won't need to wait till 2059 for a properly shaped and sturdy VF-25!

  • I agree. I wish Yamato would take on the VF-25s. It's really too bad they don't have the license (YET!) I'm sure they would do a far better job with the VF-25s. I bet a Yamato VF-25 would be not only way better looking (proportions), but also have way better articulation (i.e. the hands, neck, and GERWALK!). I own a DX VF-25S and don't really like it that much. It is too bulky for my taste, the neck is too short, the hands are not articulated, and the gerwalk sucks (it is a pain to pose)...

  • @wangpablo Is the 1/60dx too ugly because of all the hinges.

  • Did you try warming up the cannon a little with a lighter and bending back?

  • No, I'll accept the way it is. You don't really notice it once it's under the plane and I always use the open one if I'm display in one of the two other modes.

  • It would be more noticeable if it was missing and smelled funny right? :P

Thanks for reviewing this, I was planning on getting that before I saw your review.

  • LoL true!

  • No. Don't use a lighter. Its too risk you might melt the plastic. Try using a blow dryer set to medium or dip your part into hot water. worked for my gears figures.

  • i dont like this nearly as much as the 1/60. i dont like the fact that u have to take off parts to transform.

  • It looks pretty nice... but I think it takes a bit to much work to transform...
