I don't see Rebuild as just a "easier to understand" copy, I understood the original series and movies pretty well (to Eva's standards) and I am watching Rebuild simply because it's Evangelion.

And seriously, after watching 2.0, I'm starting to think this may go even crazier than End of Evangelion, Anno is really onto something

@wisefelipe Well, it's really easier to get each characters personnality, even if it's different of NGEN. You don't have to understand it, it's given to you (like asuka loneliness). But i agree it's giving a lot of different ways for the end, i'm so fucking waiting for it.

Also: they dont know what to do with mari (btw i think she's the opposite of kaoru, she open his heart in Rebuild, he close his heart in NGEN.)

I dont think we are given enough info on Mari to really know anything about her, we only got a glimpse of her personality, and nothing at all of her objectives/past etc.

About the personalities being kind of given... well, it`s a movie, it`s shorter than a series, it`s understandable that they have to cut on some scenes, make others a little more obvious to replace them.

I think there isnt really a difinitive answer to the end of eva, its what you want to make of of it and thats the beauty of it. I have watched these films so much and there are still bits that dont make sense, but on the other hand there are parts that i understand far to well !

Incorrect, you are thinking about the book that was made for End Of Evangelion that has a glossary and such, but it does not answer all the questions the movie puts out. All it does is explain the terms used in the movie, and where they originated from. There is far more to the movie than what is explained in that small pamphlet.
