@fazugue don't rely on thumbs, I am still playing this game sinced launch, almost as good as Rome: TW (depend your preference), I highly recommend that you play it with the "Stainless Steel 6.4" mod. I never been a big multiplayer TW battle, Have fun, BUY IT.

Just do this: Get a young general. Make sure you have like 6000 Florins for troops. Assign him to the crusade. Buy every merc you can on the way. If you think there will be many, bring a support general. Use this newly found, large elite army to pillage every single town on the way. When you've reached the Crusade destination, make sure both armies siege the city and both generals will get mass chivalry and some command ++ traits. Pillage that city too and the surrounding cities, and leave it.
Last time I send a crusade (with England in the mid game) I only sent one general, NEVER DO THAT. At least send two, because my general died of natural causes and the million dollor crusade disbanded! I then had to lose ground to France, and Portugul....
I didnt join the crusade but I was Venice and took my massively over sized army on the ships to antioch and took it easily then the pope cancelled the crusade O.o

I played as Holy roman empire and i've created the 3rd reich, excactly how hitler did it =D
first, i gained control of innsbruck, vienna and prague, and then i conquered the terretory now called: poland, hongary, joegoslavia, Albania and Greece.

there is probably some saved memory from the previous game still on the computer. go through my computer and documents and uninstall anything that was saved from the last game or having to do with it. if that doesn't work you are S.O.L .

You have to destroy the civ you wanna play with in a game with one of the basic civs. I.E. if you destroy the moors with the spanish you can start a game with the moors. If you want the byzantines the best thing to do is use Venice to destroy them. Good luck!
I havent played MTW2 much but I think you have to complete the whole long campaign. But if you have MTW2 Kingdoms, you can start as Byzantines from the start in the Crusades campagn.
u have to conquer nations to play with them. but it must be u who destroyed a faction not cpu. if u want quickly conquer denmark, poland, russia, milan or hungary use the holy roman empire and attack the faction u want to conquer with all ur forces. france and holy roman emp r strongest in the beginning of campaign.
You create an army with eight units, and a general. You can then right click on the general, and at the bottom left hand corner of his details, there should be an icon with a cross. Click that cross and you join the crusade (there has to be an active crusade already).

When the first crusade was called I answered it as Milan and I slatered and took jerusalem then from there I took the middle east and most of north Africa. So if ur a nube then it's trouble to take a city far away but if ur a expert like me then it's a golden oppertunity to expand and beacome much more powerful.

Attila, The Crusades were an effort to regain lost land. All that land belonged to the Roman Empire at one point. The Muslims invaded up from Saudi Arabia and conquered Christan areas. Also the Crusades were in response to Islams practice of raiding Europe for slaves. It was quite a problem.

That's also not true. Islam begins arround the year 600 after christ. That means that the Islam has taken land first. Mainly from the Byzantine empire. But also almost the whole as spain and even sicily and south Italy. (Even sacking Rome arround the year 846). So it was christianity that took TAKEN land back. Land that originally belongs to the christians.

Whats the point of attacking muslims if mongols and timurids wipe out The Turks, Egypt , Byzantine Empire and literraly conquer all of Middle-East? Then they cross Byzantium and turn their MASSIVE ARMYS at Christian citys and citadels, Hungary, Venice fall first then they just go on and on and on :OO, Until Timurids come and stab the Mongols in the ass by besieging Baghdad and conquering middle-east for themselves, cutting off the mongols in Egypt and Turkey mostly.

i do not want to start a flame war, but yes i have seen many more of that from extreemist muslims do that then by a trained israeli army person, in fact on youtube if you wish you can see the extreemist anti smetic speeches and yeah it goes both ways but from my perspective the scale seems tipped that muslims are doing it more but thats just me

When the first crusade was called I answered it as Milan and I slatered and took jerusalem then from there I took the middle east and most of north Africa. So if ur a nube then it's trouble to take a city far away but if ur a expert like me then it's a golden oppertunity to expand and beacome much more powerful.

Actually, what you said about Jihads wasn't true, Atilla. In the Medieval 1, Jihads could only be launched on territory you once controlled, but in Medieval 2 they function more like crusades. I launched a Jihad on Jerusalem in the second turn of my game. What I want to know is how to make the Pope's crusade go away.

Attila, The Crusades were an effort to regain lost land. All that land belonged to the Roman Empire at one point. The Muslims invaded up from Saudi Arabia and conquered Christan areas. Also the Crusades were in response to Islams practice of raiding Europe for slaves. It was quite a problem.

They are two Jihads the great Jihad, to to not do evil and to do good, to fight temptations and the like. like you said. BUT there is also the small jihad: to expand the Islam into the world, by force if nessecary. Don't think i hate every other religion or culture, I'm not like that.

That's also not true. Islam begins arround the year 600 after christ. That means that the Islam has taken land first. Mainly from the Byzantine empire. But also almost the whole as spain and even sicily and south Italy. (Even sacking Rome arround the year 846). So it was christianity that took TAKEN land back. Land that originally belongs to the christians.
