Hey man I love your videos they are entertaining to watch. I am going to make my own cell and have a question to ask you. I noticed in the original Smack cell that their were nuts every other two plates but in your revised desig that their were only nuts at the end. Do you only have nylon washers separating the plates and how much more hydrogen does this design produce over the original Smack? P.S look at my Intake videos and tell me what you think. Peace
Hey Steve,I dont know if others have done this but i found if you take an ordinary 2L soda bottle and cut out the top & bottom & leave it an inch longer on both ends than your plates, and put it in an oven set to 350 deg. for less than one minute, (i watched it carefully), it will shrink around your plates for a near perfect fit.I trimmed the excess plastic after cooling and it is a hvy duty wrapper. I did this on the modified 18 plate smack design. Thanks for all of your great videos!
Steve you can always use SS hose clamps. Take them apart and just use the band. Get the 6 or 8 inch ones and you can double or triple them up to make the bottom connector. The clamps are easy to drill through, make sure they are SS though, if the regular places dont have then go to a marine supplier like West Marine etc...
Yes I have - matter of fact I used heat shrink on the cell yesterday and have already noticed a decrease in heat & amps, but not much in production. I do have some hdpe 1/4" sheet so maybe I will make a housing and see what that does.
I like you'r idea of heavier strap. But the standard steel will really dirty up you electrolyte. You might want to go with 316 just like your plates. Oh and i enjoy your vids. Ill get some off my own out there one of these days and show what I've been doing.
yes ss would have been better but I am getting pretty restless - I really want to get this in my truck and tested. Hopefully the tool dip will minimize the gunk from the regular steel.
Nice video man , Are you trying to Smack the Smack ? Just joking , yeah the Smack design is the best wet cell design that I have seen..I am done with wet cells tho.I'm going dry waiting on my materials,I cant wait ..Keep up the great work
Hey what do you mean by positive 4 neutral negative cell? It looks like theyre all neutral except the outer plates on each cell. Sorry its just hard to see it. Thanks.

Your welcome.
As for the 2 liter bottle bit, thats a good idea - thanks for passing that long. It sure beats buying that expensive heat shrink.

For claiming not to be smart, you do a smart job building, and observing the small details. looks good, can't wait to see what ya get.

yea I've a ways from wiring up some steel plates and plugging it into a wall socket.
;)
Of course I still have some 'tard' moments - check out my blooper of the year vid. Its stuff like that which keeps me from getting a big head.
Anyway I hope to install it soon and get some after mileage tests.

have you thought of encasing the plates? I found that increased production quite a bit on my system.

Good hearing from you again.

after you bring the amps back up your production will increase as well.

increased production good
:D

Good point tho - time to check out ss straps.

How much did those plates cost you?
freedomorelse 3 years ago
I think they were around 80

Question? On the two power lead bars and the under strap are they stainless steel or standered steel, and are you going to shrink wrap the cell?
rkovic 3 years ago
The lead bars are standard steel and yes I will shrink wrap the cell (actually I just did that last nite).
:)

still using ss for the plates, but regular steel for the straps that go from the cell to the bolts on the lid.

Sorry that reply was meant for Steve not you jdcmusicman. My bad.
gmanhl22 3 years ago
yea its a different type of config for sure.
check out the vid called "Hey d3 here is the smack cell config" to see how it has 4 neg.
AlmostHydrogen 3 years ago
Yeah, I got it after I sent that, I was thinking you were using all nylon washers but you must be using stainless washers instead of the nuts now..
gmanhl22 3 years ago
Yeah I was just sitting here trying to figure that one out LOL no problem..
