In case anybody is wondering, this is an arrangement of Greensleeves by Patrick Ball, from his album "From a Distant Time: Volume Two".
I once stumbled upon this video years ago, and my heart sings now that I've found it again. God bless, and may the spirit of Christmas live in you each day.
Said to have been composed (and first played) by King Henry VIII. If true, I can think of no other composition by a European monarch in medieval times. Theories vary as to who is was written for, but candidates include Anne Bolyn.
so peacefull...i always will appreceate people, that are doing such beautiful things. thats what is true music, what is bringing your soul to peace, what is clearing your mind, makes you remember you childhood or husband. fills your heart with warmth, but not with agression, like it happens nowdays. thanks for sharing, lilly. even thought you are not plaing it, it is you who shared this beatufull track with as. thank you.
@LilysApple Its unfortunate that we live in such a rushed society. It you don't stop and take time to experience the beauty of life, then whats the point in living?
Listening to this music takes me back to a time when my husband and I shared such wonderful Christmas'. He's gone now, but this beautiful music brings back the past as if he were here by my side again. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Brenda, Thanks for the wonderful comment. This has always been one of my fav songs and the vintage Christmas cards bring back so many childhood memories. I remember my parents hanging them all over the house at Christmas time so I can relate.
even though its summer now that i hear it, brings back memories of Christmas as a child.i find it so tender and calm and makes me feel peaceful.thank you for posting it!
Thomas Kincade captures a fond memory of my childhood in our dinner plates all had winter Currier&Ives themes...WONDERFUL! I had a little music box that played Greensleaves...
Absolutely beautiful! I'm just starting to learn this song on harp. You've inspired me to work extra hard to make it as beautiful as you play it!
