  • Almost as good a petalman as Hans Stuck......

  • shifting 101!! this guy's got some maaad skills!!

  • nice driving, sweet video. thanks

  • god look at that shifting. amazing.

  • btw who is that guy drivin

  • this guy knows how to drive. thats some serious shifting and heel toe action

  • Nice car, good driving, boring track. I really wonder why the 12 hours of Sebring race has such a high renomee...

  • who needs PDK?? not this guy!

  • i love the switching-between-3-gears-in-like-5-milliseconds :)

  • That's some fantastic heel-toe action, especially at 1:13 ! :D

  • He's having a whole lot of fun during this lap.

  • Leh's talent is wasted in Grand-Am

  • I love his downshift !!

  • good ol sebring, bumping as hell!!

  • this great man has shown the world how to sit in a chair an get a cardio workout at the same time!

  • hey whats the diff between a GT3 RSR and GT3 Cup? which races in what class? Which is faster? Thanks

  • @lobzdik GT3 Cup: Stripped out version of GT3 RS streetcar. Modifications include: Roll cage, Sequential Dogleg Gearbox, etc.

GT3 RSR: More powerful version of the Cup. Modifications include a seamless downshifting sequential gearbox, much more.

The Cup races only in the Porsche Carrera Cup Series. And older Cup models can race in GT3 Series. GT3 RSR is mainly raced in LMS and other Endurance Races. Also in GT3 Class.

Source: Uncle is a GT3 Cup racing driver, a racing car fan myself.

  • @MyBoogeryBooger GT3 RSR races in GT2/GTE !!!

  • oops :(...im embarrassed :/ i swear that was a typo.. :(

  • Love the sound of these RSR's. Hes getting some oversteer in to some of the corners though. But still love it!

  • @boyracer693 thats an GT3 RS ..the RSr has a sequentiell gearbox ...

  • Sounds better than the current Porsche 911 GT2.

  • Great shifting! It's a lot of work to do per lap!!! Why don't you have sequential box?

  • looks like he was getting the shit beat out of him

  • Hell yeah!

  • downshifting from 6th grear to 1st is radical

  • look at that guys feet at :50

    Holy shit!!!!

  • This is a little embarrassing to admit but, when I can't fall asleep at night this is the video I listen to. I don't know what it is about it but, to me, this is a very soothing sound and it puts me right to sleep. Some people have the machine that plays nature sounds, I want the machine that plays the Porsche sounds.

  • That's the most AMAZING sound ever! I wish I had one... :)

  • the downshift is AMAZING D::

    well, i'm a TOTAL NEWBie :O

  • @Utsusemi dont worry if you cant do that, what he is doing takes years and years of practice..........

  • What kind of gearbox is that? it looks like he's doing the same movements to up shift and down shift.... I don't get it.

  • its a heavy duty H-pattern......he clutches on the upshifts.....

  • Seems like hes using a H Pattern Gearbox. Its not a sequential gearbox. 6 gears I think

  • @razgriz55 Thanks man, I Can't believe I didn't see that before, so obvious now, lol.

  • Maitrise du talon-pointe!!!!

  • this guy is an excellent driver! very impressive

  • Very nice onboard video. I like to see onboard video. Look at my onboard video with the first Porsche 911 GT3 RS rallycar from Denmark

  • Sawed right through that wheel. Balls to the wall. Still. I'm sure everyone's impressed. But way too out of control. Not that I would EVER take my car to that extreme, but if he smooths that out a bit.. holy crap.. even faster.

  • He is not even close to being "out of control"... LOL. Sebring is a rough track, the car is obviously setup a little loose, and we don't know anything about tires/pressure/temps or time of day. I believe it's Leh Keen driving.

  • FUCKING FUCK YEAH!!!! this video is amazing an amazing car driven at its limit by a pro

  • NOW THAT IS HOW YOU DRIVE A CAR

  • Why buy a bowflex when you can just drive a race car?

  • Nice driver

  • Looks like his seat wasn't bolted properly... it's all over the place ;-)

  • It's bolted just fine. These seats flex.

  • Thats How Great Racing Used to be!!! Before the DSG and Sequential gearbox! Thats what I'm talking bout. Racing Should go back to its Roots...

  • This is a 2004 GT3-R not an RSR. The RSR cam out in 2005. Good vid though! ;)

  • Actually you're wrong as well, it's a 996 GT3 RS that's been modified into a track car (check their website).

    Still, amazing video.

  • No i'm not entirely. I misseplaced the year.

So a 2002 GT3 RS is based on a Mk.1 1999 GT3 ,the first street 996 GT3. Check the headlights. The R and RS of 2002-2004 are the same cars only named differently for class regulations/championship.

  • The RSR was actually introduced in 73.

  • Dude ,we are talking about the 996 series. I know the 930 RSR (2.1 Turbo) was launched in '73.

    Jesus....

  • It was just your wording. Its all good ....

    Cheers.

  • No prob... Cheers ;)

  • The last corner looks very interesting.

Braking from top speed and turning right at the same time on what appears to be an extremely bumpy surface.

I'm sure the bumps are very unpleasant with such a stiff ride but it makes it more dramatic and at the same time more difficult to keep it all clean on the brakes.

  • you see how violent those bumps are at sebring?

you get out of the car need a chiropractor

ive driven the track before and it feels worse than it looks

  • yes not an rsr, they pushing like 500hp max, this thing my guess is closer to 600hp , looks like a rare GT3R, my fav of the 911 non LM

  • Nope. This car is either a 996 GT3R or a 996 GT3RS. This means it has either 420bhp or 445bhp respectively. This car did indeed race at LM and was the dominant entry in it's class for several years. Hugely successful and tough race car.

  • Is this guy a super driver or what because he passed a handful of people in just one single lap.

  • This is Leh Keen. Very fast in his car

  • He's racing for Farnbacher Loles now, no?

  • what year is this car? from my knowledge all porsche rsr's have sequential shifters and the bodywork on this car is none that i have seen before on a rsr

  • Dude, very cool indeed. At first I thought you were shifting on a sequential transmission because it was so fast. I watched that thinking to myself that I tend to grind the gears once in a while, on my daily driver.

  • AWESOME DRIVING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its a G50 transmission right? thats why he can shift so fast.

  • He shifts so fast you'd think he'd be driving with a gated dogbox or sequential transmission. Wish I could shift like that.

  • That is a 996 GT3 R or an RS, not an RSR.

  • definately not an rsr

  • nice heel toe into turn 7

  • that man was brought up on donegal roads (ireland)

  • Another day at the office !

  • ur right he is a very good shifter, and steerer...damn good driver

  • Wow! What a driver! I dare anyone to try to outshift this guy! I've raced at Sebring, and to pull off a 2:09 lap is impressive to say the least! And he had traffic at a few inopportune times too!

  • this is a old GT3R not even a RS;) it has the older specs and indeed no sequential gearbox. but this is even more hard work in the cockpit;)

  • Heel n' toe is the way to go, i don't like sequential/autoclutch/autoblip electronic aids! ;) What do u think?

  • 100% agree!

  • Heel and toe is for men who eat eat bacon at breakfast and washes all with a glass of Coke. Burps and than climbs at the wheel spitting petrol on the back pipes.

    100% agree!

  • the suspension seems awfully soft... or sumthin, i dunno.

on the other hand, it IS sebring lol not particularly smooth in some parts.

  • This is Leh Keen, buddy.

  • O yes.

  • no you are wrong wrong wrong...trace the video back to who Downloaded it and send Mike a mesg. He will set ya straight.

  • RS is a H pattern (standard), RSR is sequential.

  • first off there is no such thing as a 911 rsr. This car is a 996 gt3 rsr. and the driver is Mike rockenfeller. This is also an older video. The new Porsche for 2007 gt 2 alms seasons are are 997 gt3 rsr..

  • Wrong, wrong, and wrong. The car is a 996 GT3 RS, not RSR, the driver is Leh Keen, and the video is only a year or two old.

  • HolyCRAP this guy is good. That is some amazing footwork there, truly lightniing quick upshifts and heeltoe'd downshifts!

  • ok first of all this is a fully prepped race car not a modded street car, and second of all this is an RS not an RSR. Why in the world someone would think that a Honda Civic would even be able to touch this car, I will never know.

  • lololol! Who said that? xD What an idiot. Honda Civic! lol

  • Amazing! would love to know the setup of that flywheel. My 997 can't shift that fast and my old 996, after watching this vid, I tried and broke the shift linkage ;-) Kudos to a fellow Porsche driver with some absolutely amazing skill.

  • fuck your vtech

  • Good driving! Beautifully smooth downshifts, steering and throttle application. Definitely not a weekend DE warrior!

  • Man my 1993 hatchback civic will smoke that once my VTEch Kicks in yo.

  • Yeh I bet especially when it's got 900hp, and once vtahk kicks in, well you'll be at 200mph in like 5 seconds, NICE!!

  • I've no clue what the actually race title of this car is as per the above comments but I can tell you its based on the pre face lift 996 series 996 as its got no glovebox!! I no I no - I need to get out more!!

  • this guy is a superb driver...sit behind the wheel of a porsche like that before you can comment. I have

  • Hot damn, he looks like he's right on the edge. It's oversteering quite alot... pretty skillful braking on the last turn.

  • It's the RS, if you go on their website it tells you.

  • It's more than likely an R or an RS version. The RSR uses a sequential gearbox (the above is a normal, H-pattern manual), as well as the 996 Turbo-style headlights, the lights above are the ones originally used on the Boxster and 996.

  • wait, there's a GT3 R? I thought there was an RS, then an RSR...

  • Yep, Porsche released the GT3-R around the year 2000. The RS came in 2001, and the RSR in 2004.

  • i think its an RS

  • It's an early 996 RSR rather than the newer 996 facelift RSR or 997 RSR which have the sequential box.

  • Is he using a 6-speed H-Pattern gearbox? And is he using heel n' toe? From what i see he is clutching on up shifts (lightning fast)/ and hell n' toe on down shift (right foot braking) as lightning fast as well? I enjoy GTR2, and would like to know so i can setup my sim to be as realistic as possible. Please if anyone knows about the clutch usage for this car/class please reply :D sorry for the double post.

  • Well it is obviously a 6 speed H-pattern gearbox and he is using the clutch on both the upshifts and the downshifts. He is also doing heel-toe downshifting, and he's pretty good at it too by how fast he is.

  • It's a sequential transmission.

  • A sequential transmission is when the gears are all in line of each other, so the driver either pulls the gear lever back to upshift and pushes up to downshift, and what the driver here is doing is shifting the H-pattern way, just look. It's an H-pattern gearbox.

  • Yeah, I realized this about 2 seconds after posting that it's an H-Pattern, but couldn't edit my post.

  • LOL mate, I love it when peeps notice right at the last minute. DOH

  • No watch closely its a H pattern gearbox.

  • Is he using

  • It's either an R or RS... headlights tell me that as well as H pattern gear box. Though I could be mistaken... if it was an RSR conversion I assume it would have the sequential as well. Prove me wrong kids, prove me wrong.

  • It's most definately an RS...

  • Wow, I wish I was there
