It's only in rare cases were humans and lions live in close proximity that problems can happen.Seeing as how this man is their caretaker, the lions wouldn't have even taken notice of him, nor would they bite his arm off, the worse they would do is growl or nip at him, any injury would be minor. The acting (apart from Wahlberg and Leguizamo, both of whom I really like) is atrocious, there is a entire lack of threat, there are too many scenes of unintentional comedy to count and Shyamalan's gone from a once-talented director to a self-centred jerk who has created a wall of indestructible arrogance which stops genuinely useful criticisms from getting through to him.

The only things I liked about it were the performances from Wahlberg and Leguizamo, the opening five minutes, the scene with the kids and the two crazy survivors with the shotgun, and the score by James Newton Howard (seriously, most of Howard's music ends up being better than the actual film itself - that's the true sign of a professional). Oh, and the ending, purely because it meant that I was free to go home.
